“GUESS what, Niki!”A sixteen year old boy in a suit ran towards Niki, holding a paper. She wiped her hands on her apron and smiled at him. The boy nearly tripped, but good thing she was able to catch him. “You're so clumsy, Tubbo.” She said, patting his head. She looked onto the paper that he was holding. “What is it?” She asked him, receiving the paper he handed to her. There were like two paragraphs of words.
“It’s my speech for the festival, Niki! Schlatt assigned me to do the speech since I was the one who organized it all,” he proudly said. Niki froze, remembering it again. Moving from Tommy’s holiday home to Eret’s castle was really stressful, especially when there is someone after her. When Schlatt stopped trying to find her, she remained on Tommy’s home, baking pastries as a distraction. It was too distracting that she forgot about the festival.
“You’re going, right? Schlatt invited you, he swears that he’s not going to try killing you.” the boy asked with faint dismay in his voice. Niki smiled at him and nodded. “Of course, Tubbo. I’m going to give your speech a loud round of applause.” she answered, her voice reassuring enough for the pure child to fall for it.
Niki decided to leave Tommy’s home to meet HBomb. He's a friend of hers, and it would be rude not to show up to him. She opt for staying in Eret’s castle for a while so it would be easier for her to have contact with him.
While walking with her friend around Eret's castle, she noticed her friend hesitating on doing something. It bugged her, so she asked him what’s up. “What is it, H?” she gave him a sweet smile. HBomb sighed and looked at her.
“Niki, what if he’s using you?” He asked. That was a question that she didn’t expect. It took her a while to answer. “He? Who?” she wanted to know who he was talking about. “Wilbur.” H said sternly.
She laughed it off. “Come on, H. He will definitely not do that to me,” she replied, hiding the doubts she started thinking about. She failed on trying to hide it, but HBomb remained silent and acted convinced on her answer.
“He will not,” she whispered.

“Is there a way to stop him, Tommy?” Niki asked the boy as she placed the cake she baked in a box. The teenage boy sighed and placed his crossbow and sword on the table, watching Niki tie the ribbons.
“I’m trying to stop him by reminding him that you’re still in Manburg. That’s why I ordered a cake from you.” Tommy answered, sitting down in front of the kitchen counter. He heaved a sigh and buried his face on his hands. “I really need to convince him not to blow it up, Niki. It’ll be over for our beloved nation,” He added.
“Tommy, can I come with you? I want to see him— and help you convince him,” she suggested, hoping for a yes. Tommy shook his head in disagreement and picked up his crossbow and sword, and also Niki's cake. “You have to be there. Schlatt’s going to know that Wilbur’s planning something.” Tommy said. He held Niki's shoulders. “Be our cover, Niki. We’ll be secretly watching on Eret’s tower.” He added and walked away to end the conversation. The poor girl couldn't do anything but to sigh in defeat.
Niki prepared all the things she needed for the festival. A sword, shield and food. As she walked in to the place she loved and now she despises, she saw Schlatt and Quackity having a boxing match, with Tubbo sitting at the corner reading a paper, practicing his speech.
“Eret, I’m scared.” she said as they walked on the prime path. HBomb was already ahead, hopping, excited for what’s happening. He probably didn’t know what’s about to happen, that’s why.
“Don’t worry, I always got your back. I have pots with me!” They said, bringing out a swiftness potion. Niki snorted and took the pot. “You know what I’m trying to do, right? I’m trying to gain Tommy and Wilbur's trust again.” “I’ll protect you from the blast in place of Wilbur,” He added then patted the lass’ shoulder to comfort her.
“And there's Fundy. That fucking furry.” Niki cursed without hesitation as her eyes stuck upon Fundy who was busy adding some finishing touches in the venue. Fundy turned his head at her, and she just gave him a deadly glare.
“Eret, save a seat from me. I need to go check my bakery,” She asked Eret then ran towards her bakery. There was a sign in front of the entrance that says ‘Taxes are paid. Thank you for your cooperation.’. She gritted her teeth and went in, checking her chests if Schlatt took her valuables, but thankfully he didn’t or she will be the one who will kill him.
When Eret took his eyes off Niki, she ran into the tower, seeing Tommy and Wilbur coming in. She panicked and find a place to hide— behind the chests.
“The bombs under the podium. One click away, Manburg will go boom.” She heard Wilbur say with an unusual laugh. The laugh she didn’t ever hear from him. He sounded different— he must've gone crazy.
She peeked through a little space between the chests, only seeing their hands. Tommy placed the cake she made in front of Will who was busy blabbering about his plans. After seeing the package, Wilbur paused, looking at it with no emotions.
“What is this?” He asked Tommy. “What is this, Tommy?” The boy didn’t know how to explain it to Will. He sighed and spoke.
“They look happy, man. Maybe this festival will be a good one; Tubbo is obviously happy and excited about talking to public, Schlatt and Quackity are just boxing for fun, and Fundy also made fun booths for everyone. I don’t see any agony in their faces, Will.”
“What? Are you trying to imply that I shouldn't do it because of Niki? Huh?” Wilbur walked towards Tommy, cornering him. The brunette man threw the cake, making Niki gasp.
“They mean nothing to me, Tommy. None of them do. We can kill them all. It doesn't matter.” He whispered to the boy, audible enough for her to hear. Tommy slightly turned his head on her, afflicted. She repeatedly shook her head as she hid more behind the chests, telepathically telling him not to expose her that she was eavesdropping. She sat and covered her mouth with her hand to suppress her sobs.
As soon as Wilbur is out from the tower, that's when she broke down. Tommy immediately rushed beside her, giving her comfort for what she just heard. "Wilbur's already hopeless, Tommy. He's not the Wilbur I once knew,”
