I stared at the "perfect cattle child" not sure what to say.
(I'm sorry for this fanart. I know it looks terrible.)
-...Damn. -I said again.
-Whoa! She has so many colours! -Ava gasped.
-Uh, yeah, she's a mix of like 150 people. What did you expect?
The rainbow girl looked at us both curiously.
-Who... am I? -she asked.
Oh yeah. Now that she has been created, time to get her on a plantation.
I smiled sweetly and pat her on the head.
-Your name is... Alya. Number 01. You must've lost your memory after you hit your head. Anyway, you were born in an orphanage, but now you're being send to... Another orphanage. Grand Valley, to be precise.
-...Grand Valley? -Alya whispered.
-That's right. -Ava decided to play along.
-Have you told Beatrice yet?
-Yeah. She's on her way here.
Beatrice is a Mama at Grand Valley. If you wonder what she looks like, she has long, wavy auburn hair, warm brown eyes and glasses.
-Your new Mama will be here soon, Alya. She's gonna take you to your new home! I'm sure you'll be happy there.
-...Really? -Alya asked, now quite excited.
-Sure. Your foster siblings will love you.
After a few minutes, Beatrice was waiting at the gate. I'm pretty sure she was surprised by Alya's strange appearance, but she hid it well and smiled motherly.
-Let's go, sweetie. All your brothers and sisters are waiting.
Alya happily walked away, holding Beatrice's hand.
-Experiment 01 was a success. -I said in a cool tone of voice.
-Now we can try making another one, this time it will be a boy.
-And after that, the creation will become massive, right?
-Yup. Nothing but thousands of Alyas and... I don't know, Nathans?
-Is that the name you want the boy to have? -I smirked.
-Probably.
-I mean, you do realise we'll have to give a different name to every single kid, right?
-...Kill me already.
I laughed at her reaction. And you know what the funniest thing is? That she thinks we're such great friends now and I'm probably going to kill her to escape this place.
-Anyway, Tangerine. Why don't we take a break? There's something I wanna talk about.
We left the laboratory and I led Ava to the basement.
-...So you want to talk about Blood Marine 3?
-Exactly.
Using it to satisfy the demons while their waiting for a late shipment is an awesome idea, so why not try to make it a complete replacement of human meat? That would end the farms!
Of course, Ava would never to that. She wants to finish Judy's job and I have to pretend I'm helping her.
But that won't stop me from working on it on my own. All I have to do now is make Ava give me a few hints.
