I woke up in the middle of the forest, surrounded by my siblings.
-Rhea! -Ray was the first one to speak up. -Are you okay!? What did he do to you!?
-Nothing. I just had a little chat with some ghosts. Do we have any food? -I asked.
-Yeah, I have some sandwiches and- WAIT WHAT DO YOU MEAN "A CHAT WITH GHOSTS"!?
Laughing at Gilda's outburst, I explained the situation to others. Honestly, after all we've been through, they weren't that suprised.
-So you lied to all three of them? -one of the younger ones asked.
-Demon King said I had to get them to forgive me. He never said I couldn't lie.
-Geez, Rhea. Your slyness is scary.
-Thanks, Redhead. Anyway, I guess we did it! We got through the maze, found all the objects in that strange palace and even talked with our past enemies. The perfect children will be safe in their own world!
The younger kids cheered, while the older ones were getting ready to go back to the farms. Liliana must be worried sick about us.
-Hey, Emo Boy! -I called out and caught him by the hand, making him jump in suprise.
-W-What are you doing!?
-Come on, you already said you love me. I guess we're official now.
His face turned red, much to my amusement, but he didn't deny it.
Woah, did I just manage to turn this edgelord into a functional lover material? Forget everything we went through, this is REAL magic right here.
-Hey, Lovebirds! Stop ogling each other and get a move on! -Don cried out with a cheeky smile.
-Says the guy who has been staring at Gilda since we first left Grace Field~! -I giggled, making Weirdo and Four-eyes blush.
-Anyway, Ray, you do realise our adventure is slowly ending, right?
-Yeah... -he looked at me with something resembling a mixture of relief and slight sadness.
-Hey, don't worry! I'll make sure we never get bored, even without demons around!
-I have no doubts about that.
My day immediately got better when I saw him smile.
We continued to walk through the woods in comfortable silence. I thought about all the fucked up things I have experienced.
Liliana leaving Goodwill Ridge, my life at Grace Field, the first escape, the human world, Judy, Ava, the perfect farms, the second escape, Demon King's test, Zachary, the chat with the ghosts.
All we have to do now is go back to the farms and send the perfect kids to a safe place. Then we can go back to the human world, and... Live peacefully, I guess.
It sounds weird, us leaving peacefully, no crazy, life-threatening adventures. I'm almost going to miss it. Well, almost.
I wonder if I'm going to change after all this. I mean, okay, I'll never get rid of my killer instincts, but... Maybe I won't be so overprotective of my siblings. I might not have noticed, but they have matured as well.
Heck, even Emo Boy admitted his love for me! Now that's some damn character development!
My happy thoughts were interrupted when we finally arrived at the farms.
My intuition suddenly told me to step back, and as always, it was right. Liliana rushed out and squeezed me in an incredibly tight hug.
-You're back! -she cried. -You're finally back! We told the kids the truth about the farm and they're all ready to leave and I read your letter and we all missed you guys so much!!!!
