Y/n's POV

Love. Crazy isn't it? I've fallen in love with the perfect man. A man with no flaws. Or so you would think. Chris had asked me to marry him him after three years of being together. At the wonderful age of 23, I would be marrying the man I've waited for since before I even knew what love was.

But.

It soon became clear Chris wasn't who he fooled me to be.

Some days he forced me to do things that I didn't want to do. He's hit me a few times and now every time he raises his hand, I flinch.

I'd always run to my best friend, Five. He's always there for me. I never told him what was happening with Chris because I knew he would kill him. I knew. Chris would hit me and yell at me more any time he found out I went to Five.

Me and Five were abnormally close. And Chris hated it. Him and I had been best friends since we were fourteen. And yes I knew everything about him and his past. I had gotten a crush on him around the age of eighteen, but once I met Chris, my love for Five sort of just dwindled. But since what's been happening with Chris, my feelings for Five have resurfaced. And I'm absolutely terrified to confront Chris about it.

I've wanted to call off the wedding, but I knew even if I tried, I could never escape him.

"Are you ready?" Crysta asked me as I stood in front of the mirror.

It was my wedding day. And there was nothing I wanted more than to reach out to Five and ask him to hold me. Help me. But I had no idea if he felt the same way. Even if he did, it was too late, and I was scared. Scared not only for marrying an abusive man, but for my future. My life.

"No." I let out a shaky smile. "I have to tell you something." I started to cry.

"Hey it's okay. You're just nervous."

"I-heh. You were my last chance." I whispered.

Chris walked in and looked at me angrily.

"You invited, Five!?"

"H-he's my best friend."

He banged his fist into the wall and his eyes landed on Crysta.

"That's okay. Um-wedding starts now, come on." He grabbed my wrist and pulled me to outside the church.

"I love you." He whispered as he leaned down and kissed me. I smiled weakly and waited for it to start.

~~~
I walked down the aisle with my arm around Diego's. My dad died when I was really young, and when I suggested Diego walk me down the aisle, Chris through a fit. But he eventually agreed when Five stepped in.
Five's been acting strange the past few months. He's been acting sad and angry. But every time I come to him about Chris, he softens and hold me in his arms.
I made my way to the front of the crowd and saw Five staring at his lap. I smiled when he looked up at me. He smiled back but I could tell it was fake. I felt Chris grab my hand and squeeze it making me flinch from the sudden pain.
~~~

"I now pronounce you, husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

I stared back at Chris as he leaned forward. I could feel my heart beating in my chest.

"I love you!" I heard someone scream.

I turned my head to see Five standing and everyone staring at him. I smiled and opened my mouth but Chris squeezed my arm making me whimper.

"Well you're about three years too late." Chris said with a smirk.

Five looked at me and I pulled away from Chris. He looked at me in shock and grabbed my wrist.

"You belong to me." He whispered through his teeth. I whimpered and did the only thing I could think of.

"Five! I-I love you too!"

Five's face brightened up and he stepped through the crowd to stand in the aisle.

Chris slapped me and everyone gasped. Five's expression changed and I saw him clench his fists. He ran up to me and pulled me from the ground. He grabbed my arm and stepped in between me and Chris.

"Is this what you've been coming to me crying about? And the bruises...it all makes sense now."

Five turned to look at Chris and he backed me away from him.

"You've been hurting her. Hitting her. Leave, before I kill you."

Chris scoffed.

"I can't believe this is happening. You were supposed to marry me!" Chris clenched his fists and swung at Five.

Five dodged it and punched Chris back. He fell back and held his bleeding nose.

"Leave. And if you ever come back for her. I'll kill you, and you know I will."

Chris glared at him before turning around and walking out of the church. Five turned around and smiled at me.

"I understand if you don't want to be with me right now because you just got out of relationship, an abusive one at that. But I'll wait. I've loved you since we were like eighteen, and it broke me when I found out you were getting married. But I tried to support you. I love you."

I smiled and kissed him. He was still for a few seconds before he kissed me back.

"I love you too." I whispered.

He smiled.

"W-would you by any chance wanna, w-well, be my girlfriend?"

"Yes."

He looked at me shocked.

"But I want to go slow, okay?"

"Of course. I understand."

I leaned up and kissed him as I felt him smile into it. He kissed me back and I heard everyone 'aww.' I had completely forgotten about the crowd in the room and blushed.

Five laughed and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulling me close. I didn't want to worry about anything but me and him.

"Y-you're not gonna hurt me are you?"

He kissed the top of my head.

"Never in a million years."

I smiled because this is the man I've waited for. This was the man.

Love. It's crazy isn't it?
