Five's POV

We were standing before the final moments of battle against the commission. I took a glance at y/n to see her bruised up and dirtied. She had a small cut near her eyebrow, and her uniform was tattered beyond repair. She had this determined look on her face, and it was quite sexy, if I might add. One of the reasons I fell in love with her.

Unfortunately, I never built up the courage to tell her. She would never know if she died today. And I would be left heartbroken.

As the forty-three children stood their ground, the commission's head leader stepped forward, as did Antonio and Alyssa. The twins. Her hands burned with fire as his own tensed up with ice.

I grabbed y/n's hand, and she held it back. I leaned my head down to whisper in her ear.

"See you on the other side."

"Don't die out there." She whispered back as she turned her head and gave me a shaky smile.

I returned a smile and leaned closer to her.

"Can I tell you something?"

"Of course."

I leaned into her softly and gave her a light kiss on the lips. She kissed me back, and after a while, we pulled apart.

"I'm in love with you," I said with a smile.

"I'm in love with you too." She said. She brought herself up on her tippy-toes and grabbed my neck as she pulled me down to kiss her more aggressively this time.

She pulled away and looked back to see Antonio and Alyssa walking back.

"They will not retreat, so we must fight. On my signal." Antonio yelled out to us.

"I," Antonio screamed.

"2," Alyssa counted.

"3!" Antonio shouted.

We all ran towards the commission. As we approached the army, y/n let go of my hand and lunged at a nearby agent. The two armies clashed, and we fought mercilessly to the death.

-After the battle-

We had won. The commission bailed and promised to leave the world alone unless it was necessary. Finally, we had won.

Unfortunately, we had lost Antonio in the battle. Other than that, everyone seemed to be okay. I started to look around for y/n. I smiled and started walking around the field to find Diego talking to a crying Klaus on his shoulder.

"Klaus, what's wrong?" I asked.

Klaus and Diego turned their heads to look at me in shock. Klaus gave Diego a shaky look before he glanced at me.

"I saw what happened with you and y/n before the battle, I know-" Klaus started, but I cut him off.

"Guys, what is it? Is y/n okay?" I asked, beginning to get worried.

Diego and Klaus looked down before Luther emerged from behind them, carrying a body. That familiar h/c hair and tattered uniform left me with a sick feeling in my stomach.

"Y/n!" I shouted as Luther set her down gently on the ground. "I-is she-"

"Yes. I'm so sorry, Five." Luther said.

I looked down at y/n's pale face. I screamed out in frustration as tears left my eyes. I got up and walked in the opposite direction of her body. I stopped in my tracks and frantically looked around for Jason.

"Jason!" I screamed. Jason had the power to heal, but if the person had been gone for too long, he wouldn't be able to save them.

He turned his head from a group of people who were lying down in the grass.

"Has anyone died?" I asked frantically.

"No, not besides Antonio. I just healed him, by the way. He's weak, but he'll make it." Jason said with a smile.

"Do you think you're strong enough to heal one more person?"

Jason gave me a shaky look and bit his lip.

"Please, Jason. I just found the love of my life. I need your help." I pleaded.

He sighed.

"I'll try, but I can't make any promises."

I grabbed Jason's hand and led him through the crowd to find Klaus rocking back and forth, holding y/n. He looked up to see Jason and backed away from y/n with slight hope on his face.

Jason leaned on y/n's chest with both of his hands. A faint, light blue color glowed from Jason's hand as he slowly became pale. I didn't know if I should step in or stay put, but I guess him being alive is more important than trying to save someone who might have no hope at all.

I started to cry again as I glanced at Jason.

"Jason!" I screamed. "Jason! Stop!" I said.

I tried lifting his hands from y/n's chest, but it was like he was glued to her. Y/n started breathing and lifted her body from the ground with a big breathe. Jason sighed in relief and leaned back onto the ground.

"I'm okay." He said as I saw the color return to his face. I smiled.

I turned my head and saw y/n was breathing, alive, and breathing. I crashed my body into hers, and she fell back onto the ground with a grunt. I lifted my head and just started making out with her right there. I dismissed all the groans from my family and continued to kiss her. She kissed me back as she lifted her body from the ground to lean into me.

"Okay, we get it; you guys can continue this when we get home." Luther said as he put his hands on our chests to separate us. Y/n slapped his hands away and put her hand against my jaw as she started to kiss harder. I pulled her closer before we separated for real this time.

Y/n glared at Luther.

"We separate on our own terms," I said. "And if you ever fucking leave me like that again, I don't know what I would do with myself." I said as I started tearing up.

She gave me a soft kiss before pulling away.

"I'm sorry. I-I was stabbed, and I called out for you. I-I was s-scared. I didn't know what to do." She said as she started to cry herself.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't there," I said. "I'll never let anything happen to you again."

She nodded and buried her head into my neck as we sat there in the grass.

"I love you." I whispered into her ear.

She let out a quiet giggle.

"I love you too, Five. Forever." She whispered back.

"Forever," I said. "Forever and always."
