The time to visit Hanamura was closing in and it was time for Genji to get a hold of a flight to get there. There was only a few days left and he felt like he was in the midst of an emotional liminal space because he just felt like there was nothing he could do to make the situation go in the way he was hoping it would, at least in terms of when he'd actually visit.
He got a hold of a shuttle that would take him there and it would leave the morning after tomorrow, to say he was anxious was an understatement. But he was prepared to deal with it. His main intentions were to hang it up and give one last goodbye to Hanzo and to properly resign from his place in the Shimada empire because he was ready to shed that skin because he felt like a criminal, and most importantly he didn't feel as if though it was relevant to him anymore. He didn't feel like he had to deal with the burden anymore.
Genji was just pondering as he did his routine for the morning, since he woke up in Angela's quarter he didn't have to worry about tidying up his room so he did his usual hygienic routine in her bathroom and then went off to do his physical routine for training.
As he was training he couldn't help but think about Angela because she was the most beautiful solace in the midst of all these racing thoughts. Within the tangles of his worries because of the Shimada empire, she was gracefully tucked in there and she was so distinct that he would immediately think of her when he had time to think or when he closed his eyes. Sometimes he even makes it a point to stop what he's doing just to think about her, especially what it's like to hold her in the dark. He hoped he could see her tonight as well because he knew if there was a competition for who had the most insane, seemingly impossible, schedule...it was her.
Genji finished stretching and he started to work through stealth exercises. He thought he'd do some aerobics today as well since he had the time.

Angela was absolutely swamped since she had been slacking a little bit lately, not that she was mad about what was distracting her because typically she would be at her own throat to get right back on track.
After her moment with Genji in the morning she made it a point to quickly tidy up her space and fly through her morning hygiene ritual. She knew she had plenty to do today so she was kind of rushing and she finally got to her office she was greeted by a stack of paper work on her desk as thick as the trunk of the tree it probably got taken from. She lets out a bitter sigh, tightens her ponytail, and sits down with a pen to get started.
She knows that the work here can be hectic and dangerous, but she was still always rolling her eyes at some of the documents and reports she read. How do you even get burned and frozen at the same time? She lets out a huff and fills out that report before moving onto the next one, each one just as ridiculously unbelievable than the last. How do you survive a four inch bullet going through your skull? Sometimes she's impressed by the power of new medical technology even though she creates a bulk of it.
She got to some paperwork involving Genji and she stared at it for a moment, reading a little about the Shimada empire since it was on the file because there was always a curiosity about it because she always knew about them and not all that she knew was good information, in fact, they seemed pretty corrupt in her eyes and this didn't really occur to her for awhile. Nobody seemed to really talk about them and it seemed underground despite how massive the empire was.
Angela heard her office door open and she quickly put the file on her gracious "finished" pile which was finally starting to become bigger than the "not finished" pile. And right after she did, to her surprise, Genji walked in and so did Mei. Genji moved out of the way and allowed Mei to talk first, "Dr.Ziegler do you happen to have any ice packs? You'd think I have some but I couldn't find any." Angela smiled, "Yes! Check the cabinets to the right of you." Mei nodded gratefully and immediately went to the aforementioned cabinet and started digging in there for them.
Angela shifted her attention to Genji, "Genji? What are you doing here, did you need something?" He shook his head, "No I just thought I'd come see how you were doing, I leave for Hanamura in two days." Angela tilts her head in curiosity, "I don't recall you telling me about this?" He shrugged his shoulders, "I have something I need to do involving the Shimada empire." Angela's interest peaked and she fully turned towards him, "What are you doing over there?" Nervously, he answers, "Well, I want to resign and leave for good because I still have a foot in that mess." Mei closed the cabinet and she was holding some ice packs as she looked between the two of them, "I've heard some frightening things about the Shimada empire. I'm sure you know better than me, but I hope you're careful." Afterwards Mei walks out and closed the door gently behind her and that leaves only Genji and Angela in the office, they just stare at each other for a second before Angela speaks up.
"What exactly did you do in the Shimada empire?"
