"What did you say to him, Yoongi?" Seokjin asked once he came back downstairs. Taehyung, Jungkook, and Yoongi had moved to the living room, so Seokjin sat beside Taehyung, who was now between his boyfriends.
Yoongi sighed, leaning back against the couch. "I told him I was a mafia boss."
The couples' eyes widened at Yoongi's words (again).
"What?! Yoongi! Why would you do that?!"
"Because he's staying here for God knows how long so I might as well tell him!" Yoongi groaned in frustration. Why did it matter? It's not like Hoseok was going to tell anyone, he couldn't. He wasn't exactly a hostage, but Siwoo was from one of his biggest rival mafias, The Diamond Mafia.
"Hoseok's parents were killed by a mafia, that's why he panicked," Taehyung answered. Yoongi's face fell when he heard that. How could someone hurt that little ball of sunshine? Even if it wasn't directed towards him, it still hurt him, obviously.
"Oh...."
"Yeah. Now he's probably not going to be as open as we had hoped," Jungkook mumbled, but it was loud enough for everyone to hear.
"I can always search him myself," Yoongi said, glaring at Jungkook.
"Do you think he'd be ok with you snooping into his life?" Seokjin asked. Yoongi scoffed.
"Why do I care what he thinks?" The couple was silent. Yoongi had a short fuse and they could tell he was trying his best to be "nice."
"Whatever, Hyung. We're gonna go now," Jungkook stood up, his boyfriends following.
"We can come in tomorrow since Hoseok clearly isn't going to the shop," Seokjin added, wrapping his arm around Taehyung's waist.
"If you two are coming in then drop Taehyung off here. He can stay with Hoseok so he doesn't have another panic attack. He doesn't need to die... yet," Yoongi spoke, watching as the three of them left his home.
When Yoongi was alone, he groaned loudly and threw a pillow at the wall.
"Why do I care if he lives? He's a stranger. A cute stranger but still- What the hell?! No! Nope! You will NOT be soft Min Yoongi!" Yoongi scolded himself as he walked to his bedroom.
The next few weeks were rough for both Yoongi and Hoseok. Hoseok never spoke more than two words to the older male and stayed away from him as much as he could.
Yoongi didn't know why, but he was a little hurt. He let Hoseok stay in his home, away from danger and his apparent ex, and Hoseok ignores him? That's totally why he felt hurt. At least that's what he kept telling himself.
Yoongi also had lost a huge lead he had on a group who stole from his gang awhile back. Why had he lost it? He was trying to appeal nicely to Hoseok. That small brunette he saw every so often was making him soft and he hated it.
He was a mafia boss, the boss of not just Korea's biggest Mafia, but Asia's biggest Mafia. Min Yoongi was a powerful, ruthless, cold man who's never felt anything for anyone. Until the little brunette showed up that is.
Even if Hoseok tried avoiding Yoongi, the latter still noticed the little things. Like how Hoseok would scrunch his nose up when he was frustrated, and how he had big doe eyes when he was immersed in a show. Yoongi was good at paying attention to detail, it was part of his job, so it wasn't a surprise that he observed Hoseok. He found Hoseok's habits oddly cute, though he'd never admit it.
This night, in particular, Yoongi came home frustrated. He was frustrated at his team in the mafia and how they couldn't do their jobs right, he was annoyed at Namjoon, his best friend, who was constantly pestering him about a way to propose to his boyfriend, and on top of that, he began to get fed up with Hoseok.
Tonight he was going to confront him about it and he wasn't going to shut up until he got answers.
"Hoseok!" Yoongi yelled as he walked inside. Hoseok jumped from where he was laying down. He was up in his room reading a book and listening to soft music before Yoongi arrived home. He placed the book down and paused his music, walking downstairs to be met with a fuming raven.
"Yes?" Yoongi looked up at Hoseok, motioning him to sit down across from him on the couch.
"I'm going to get straight to the point. And don't test me, Hoseok, I've had a bad day," Hoseok nodded, folding his hands in his lap so he wouldn't fidget with them. That was something else Yoongi picked up on, how Hoseok would fidget when he was nervous or anxious.
"Why've you been ignoring me? I give you a safe place to live and this is how you repay me?! I won't have it! I've tried to be "nice" and calm because normally by now you would be dead or in the streets," Yoongi saw terror flash in Hoseok's eyes, but he was too blinded by his emotions to care.
"I-"
"No! I'm not done!" Yoongi barked, Hoseok whimpering quietly at the angry male in front of him. Hoseok was small as it is, but he felt tiny in front of Yoongi.
"I know it's not my business, but you haven't told me what the hell happened the night I found you in the bar. Well, it wasn't my business until I found out Siwoo was involved... Why won't you tell me? Is it that hard to give me a simple answer?!" Yoongi glared at Hoseok harshly.
The small boy had tears in his eyes and his hands were shaking. He bit his lip and looked down at his lap, squeezing his eyes shut as tears rolled down his cheeks.
"I-I'm s-sor-ry," Hoseok let out a soft sob. At that moment Yoongi felt horrible. Why did he feel bad?! Hoseok was the one who was in the wrong!... Right?
"Hoseok, don't cry, please," Yoongi frowned, his heart clenching at the soft sobs coming from the boy. Hoseok only continued to cry, his breath becoming rigid and his knuckles turning white from how hard he was squeezing his fists.
Yoongi quickly moved over to Hoseok to try and calm him down, but Hoseok didn't appreciate the action.
"D-Don't t-touc-ch m-me!" Hoseok sobbed harder, trying to get away from Yoongi. The older male ignored his words and pulled him close to his chest. He mimicked what Seokjin did and pulled Hoseok onto his lap, pushing his head against the left side of his chest.
Hoseok's sobs died down as he listened to Yoongi's heartbeat and felt Yoongi's slender fingers thread through his hair. He closed his eyes and took deep breaths calming down.
Yoongi couldn't believe what he was doing. He was comforting a male, who was sitting on his lap. And Yoongi himself was the reason the buy was upset, and he felt bad. Yeah, Yoongi had emotions, shocking.
Hoseok slowly lifted his head and looked into Yoongi's dark eyes. Yoongi looked into Hoseok's red, puffy eyes. He had to force himself not to look down at Hoseok's lips, but he managed. Hoseok studied Yoongi's face for a moment, silent, before laying his head back down on his chest.
"C-Can we stay like this?" Hoseok asked hesitantly. Yoongi smiled a little, moving his hand in a circular motion on his back.
"Sure, Hoseok"
Poor Seokie 🥺
