IN A FLASHBACK
______________________________________

I RUB MY COLD HANDS-
together, almost forgetting the feeling of a sand-like substance moving around inside of my skin, as I glanced down at my wrist watch. 00:00. Like always. Time doesn't even function in this place, why do I bother having a watch?

I stared at the ancient, tiny, square door for what felt like decades. But it couldn't have been decades, I only have a few minutes to go through the door. Yet, I'm sitting here wasting my precious time on my dumb thoughts. Millions upon millions of curiosities circled my mind. I blink out of my trance and crouch down, grabbing the top of the door and opening it.

A cold breeze immediately burst out of the tiny space, I squeezed my eyes shut, not being able to take the quick air stinging them. Once I reopened them I was totally mesmerized, Behind this door was some sort of Alice In Wonderland type of tunnel. It was filled with varieties of vibrant blues and purples. And it was glowing. It was so beautiful, I almost thought I was dreaming.

I crawled into the tunnel, silently closing the door behind me.
As I make my way through the soft, bumpy area, my gaze is trapped on another miniature door across from me. I crawl a bit faster, growing more impatient by the second.
It feels as if the door is getting farther and farther away from me, It could just be my vision playing tricks on me. I slow down and stop at the door, a smile spreads across my face as I reach out towards the door.

As soon as I touch it, it gets farther away. My smile fades and I scowl, I was so close! I start speed-crawling, towards the door. A dreary feeling comes over me as I, once again, get to the door. I look around for something, I'm not sure why or what it is, but I'm so sure there's some sort of object nearby.

As I look towards the ground, I find that my intuition was correct. Right on the left-ish bottom of the tunnel lays a weirdly shaped key. I pick it up and examine it before putting it into a newly found keyhole on the door. Excite swallows me. It worked! Oh my god, it worked!! The door fully opens and I quickly scramble out of the strange tunnel, Yet, as soon as my body touches the surface of floor outside, I feel myself collapse and my vision fades to a dark, endless black space.
