Location: Mount Olympus ( currently residing on the 600th floor of the Empire State building)

Time: Present

None's POV

Apollo had always known that a running Artemis is usually a dangerous Artemis, be it the time she had accidentally knocked his teeth in when they were out on one of their rare hunts or be it the time she found him with one of her hunters, talking. By the five rivers of hell Apollo could swear he wasn't even flirting. Trust Artie to make a bad judgement call. And instead of apologizing when she found out, she just gave him a wry smile, "Well, I guess that will just suffice for all the times I haven't caught you".

'RUN' he thought, but damn his lazy reflexes, his body just won't move. Don't get him wrong, the speed at which he had the capability to react was far greater than even what semi-immortal eyes could follow. But he was slower than Artemis as of now, fuck that certain god of sea and his nasty tactics. There was absolutely no way he could reach Athena's throne in time.

Speaking of that Sea god, his eyes met Poseidon's through a haze of confusion and he saw concern and then anger cloud his eyes as Artemis hurtled towards Athena in a blind case of pursuit, the only target of which was the Diary in her sister's hands, which Athena had now protectively nestled in her bosom. 'No, this can't be happening' he thought,  and if it came to actual harm he, for one, knew who Poseidon's top priority was.

'Time to cash in a favor' he thought. It took literal nanoseconds for him to get the message across to Hermes, who had owed him for a long time, and who now raised a single immaculate eyebrow upwards in question.

"Oh holy grandma rhea, why was everyone so damn irritating?" He muttered and nodded frantically. Artemis was half way there already and there was no time to lose.

He watched Hermes literally blur into the background as he zoomed pass, appearing next to Artemis, who he then grabbed by the waist and slung around using the momentum he had gathered. Apollo watched in hardly concealed relief as Hermes successfully managed to divert Artemis, who was screaming and fighting against the hold.

Apollo passed a shaken but safe Athena and an overprotective sea god, over his way to his now half insane sister. Hermes pushed her away with a wince and looked Apollo in the eye-" Debt fulfilled". Apollo only nodded his assent and made his way to his sister, who was now muttering and huffing angrily.

Only her twin could understand that in order to prevent herself from being embarrassed she had accidently caused herself even more embarrassment.

He just raised his hand, palm up. A gesture that both signified surrender as well as asked her to stop this madness.

Artemis lowered her head, but when she looked up her eyes had hardened from resolve. There was no way in Hades that a single immortal will get to read about this, her biggest failure as a hunter and as a protector of young girls.

She was just about to raise this issue to the council when suddenly He appeared. It was him, Artemis could now recognize. The unmistakable scent of lavender that lingered in the air when he had arrived, she would not have missed it if it weren't for the fact that Artemis had felt something she had never felt before: Physical Attraction.

A/N: No I didn't die, I was a bit sick, yes. Sorry for putting it on hold, but as any student would agree - Study comes first and hobbies second, so.

Please enjoy this update and don't be shy to DM if you feel sad or troubled, these are tough times and I agree that mental health is a priority these days. So stay safe and happy.<33

NOTE: So, I'm think about writing a different short one-shot explaining what happened between Poseidon and Apollo and their deal. Cuz I'm damn sure I wont be able to put it in here and dude, its longer than any chapter that I have written.

DONE!!! read it here: " https://www.wattpad.com/1008101887-the-wingman-a-n"
