jasper's pov

"hold it down!" a guy screams against the howl of the wind and rain.

we're going through a storm, how inconvenient. they're trying to hold the tarp down so we can all be shielded from the thunder and lightning.

"i got it!" someone yells in response.

i look away from the entrance of the ship to victoria. she's laying down peacefully with her shirt cut open and the dagger poking out of the side of her stomach.

clarke told me to give her some space to work, so i was forced to stand to the side. i'm now standing next to june and monroe, watching raven attempting to connect to the ark.

"this is raven reyes calling ark station. come in, ark station. this is raven reyes calling ark station. please come in." she pauses looking back over to victoria, unconscious on the table. "can anyone hear me?"

"you sure you have the right frequency?" monroe asks, trying to help.

"yeah, i'm sure." raven snaps back, stressed.

"raven? you can do this. okay?" clarke comes over from looking out at the storm and reassures raven.

clarke walks over to victoria and carefully takes off the cloth that was slowing down the bleeding to change it. i look closer and see the red skin molded against the dagger.

i wince, rushing over to stay near her.

"jasper, you shouldn't be here. go help outside with the storm." clarke mumbles focused on tending to victoria's other gashes.

i ignore her and move some hair out of the brunette's face. i carefully take her glasses off, they're broken after all. i wouldn't want her to wake up and get broken glass in her eyes.

"okay at least stand to the side." clarke compromises.

i walk over to one of the drop ship chairs and take a seat. i examine her glasses in my hand. they're chipped and bloody.

"y'know those are one of her favorite pairs." june comes over and sits next to me. "she likes them because they're so simple. she doesn't like wearing glasses because she thinks it hides her eyes. actually she doesn't like her eyes either, she thinks they're a dull color."

i laugh slightly, only someone like victoria could be that indecisive. "i think her eyes are gorgeous." i mumble to myself

"anyways, where's that asshole? sterling i think his name is." june changes the subject.

"i think he's outside helping with the storm." i say quickly, looking back up at them and away from the glasses.

"i can't believe him. he has the audacity to act like he cares about victoria when she was passed out in bellamy's arms. but when we went to go save her he chickened out. pathetic." june fumes. "and she calls him a friend."

"listen, i- i don't think we should mention that to her. she's already been through enough. i don't want to break her heart anymore." i suggest to june.

as much as i now despise the dude, i want victoria to be happy. she doesn't need anymore stress.

"fuck that i'm telling her the truth." june brushes me off.

"no i'm serious. we shouldn't just push it on her when she wakes up, give her time to breathe." i explain, hoping to talk some sense into them.
