A short story.
Shen Wei scrubbed the big pan in the sink while he kept brushing off the mop of hair from his forehead with his soapy hands. No matter how many plates and pots he washed, the heap of dishes did not seem to reduce.
He placed the bowl back in the sink and exhaled deeply, his back was aching now by standing in one position for long and doing all the dishes. He washed his hands, wiped them on his apron, and got himself some water in the glass. He downed the water in big gulps and then again got back to washing the dishes. It took him another hour to get done with the dishes.
He smiled to see the sink empty and clean, but his smile vanished when Hong threw another set of dirty plates into it. He rolled his eyes and again got back to scrubbing them. It was a routine but today he felt more tired than ever.
He then started with the cooking for Zhu Hong's ladies' night. Although he was the one who did all the cooking all the other days, he knew the menu today was going to drain all his life. The worst part, Hong would tolerate no error, so he had to be extra careful. He started cutting the vegetables while his mind kept drifting off to Yunlan and Da Qing.

"Where is Shen Wei?" Yunlan sat with his face pressed again the glass window as he watched the passers-by.
"He is at his home, Yunlan," Da Qing mopped the counter with a cloth.
After 10 Seconds
"When is Shen Wei coming back?" Yunlan sniffed the flowers as he sat on the ground crossed legs.
"I don't know, Yunlan," Qing took care of the customers.
After another 5 seconds
"When is Shen Wei coming back?" Yunlan now ate a rose.
Qing looked at him, his eyes small in confusion, "I... I don't... I don't know. You eating my flowers?"
Yunlan blinked back.
After another 10 seconds
"Where is Shen Wei?"

"When are we going to meet Shen Wei?"

.
.
"Shen Wei"
.

.

.
Da Qing repeatedly but lightly banged his head on the counter as Yunlan kept singing, on and on.
