After punching Xinci square on his nose, Yunlan strode forward with gritted teeth, his face washed in pure rage.

"How dare you put hands on my Shen Wei!"

"My Shen Wei?" With an inward thought, Shen Wei was beyond just moved by Yunlan's words. He was scared but enchanted at the same time. Yunlan wore a black shirt and a pair of slim black trousers, his messy hair was styled.

When did his pup start looking so handsome, Shen Wei wondered. He was so lost in Yunlan's newfound handsomeness, it took him a moment to realise that his pup was about to kick Xinci in the gut.

He quickly wrapped his arms around his waist.

"No, Yunlan. No, stop!" Shen Wei quickly spoke, clearly scared to see Yunlan's anger.

The heaving chest against Yunlan's back instantly dampened his anger. A small smile graced his lips.

He softly removed Shen Wei's hand and turned around. He sadly smiled down at Shen Wei, who still looked pretty shaken and scared.

"You alright?" Yunlan softly cupped Shen Wei's face.

Shen Wei shakily nodded, managing a tight-lipped smile.

"I missed you, Shen Wei," his usual childish chirp was replaced with gentleness and sincerity, "I love you, Shen Wei. I love you so much even I cannot fathom. My heart would have stopped if anything had happened to you."

Shen Wei was mesmerised by the poetic words. His puppy sounded so human, handsomely human. A teary smile was all he could give back.

"Will you marry me, Shen Wei. I cannot promise you a fairy tale, but as long as you are with me, I can definitely give you a happily ever after."

And Yunlan leaned forward to kiss Shen Wei on the lips.

It would have been a great ending to the story but it was just Da Qing and his mother imagining things after Yunlan, the pup had drained them of all their energy.

They sat on the sofa, the middle of a messy house, looking deader than the deadest, and on the floor, sat Yunlan, biting playfully on a ballerina shoe that once belonged to Da Qing's mother.

"What tribe did you say he was from?" Da Qing's mother tiredly asked.

Yunlan just chomped on the shoe, completely unaware of the curious and confused gaze of Da Qing and his mother.

"Xiao-Lan..."

"Shen Wei, Mama..." Yunlan chirped while still biting on the shoe, his hopefully twinkling eyes on the woman in front of him, "Shen-Shen Wei..."

It seemed like Shen Wei was the name of a candy that Yunlan wanted Da Qing's mom to buy for him.

Da Qing's mother gave her head a light shake, "Yunlan..."
