Rlieys POV
Andy was beautiful to ride, she knew all different kinds of cues and commands and as I had once read about western horses, she was trained with voice command. I don't know how long I had been riding for, I was still angry at the way Chase had acted today and I was even dirtier at the strong whispered warning to stay clear of him I had gotten from Tilly.
Finding a recently repaired fence I decided to ride Andy along it, it seemed to go on for miles and miles and not having anything better to do I listened to music from my iPhone and enjoyed my freedom.
The feeling you get from riding a horse is a once in a lifetime feeling, everything to me seems so much easier from my seat up here, all my problems fade and my heart soars with the music I am listening to and the clean air filtering my lungs.
Lost in my thoughts I closed my eyes and let Andy lead me in her-own direction. You may say this sounds foolish, but trust me, horses know where home is so even if we ended up lost I knew Andy would lead me to safety.
With my eyes closed and the calming notes form Taylor Swift filling my ears my thoughts drifted to the past week. Josh's eyes were burnt in my memory for ever, his touch, his smell. Oh what I wouldn't give to be able to go back in time and back out of shopping with Sam.
If I had not gone that day, I would have never met parker, my skin still crawls at the thought of him.
I would have never been blackmailed by Karen and I would be home right now with the boy I loved and my closest friends...but then I would have never met Chase.
Chase, his name sped up my heart, his touch electrocuted me like never before and seeing him with Tilly pained me...no...I cannot be thinking of Chase right now...he is a jerk!
"Ma'am?" a thick southern voice woke me from my thoughts and forced me to snap my eyes back open, looking around me I noticed a guy riding beside me on a large black and white Paint gelding.
"Oh shit" I exclaimed as I almost lost my balance
"Ma'am, are you alright?" the guy asked with a hint of humour in his voice
"Whats with the ma'am? Do I look forty? And yeah I am fine thanks, you just startled me that's all" I assured him halting Andy and turning to take a better look at my new companion.
He looked about my age, but was very good looking. He wore faded blue jeans, scuffed work boots and a plaid flannel top unbuttoned showing of his bare sweat shined body underneath...and just let me say...IT WAS OH MY GOD RIPPED.
His eyes shined as he stared back at me with a small smirk on his lips, there as something familiar about it, but right now I couldn't put my finger on it.
"Howdy I'm Kade, if I'm not mistaken you sound Australian" he nodded stretching out his had to me. Taking up his offer of greeting I reached out and joined hands with him waiting for the handshake
"Hi there I am Riley, and yep hopped in on my kangaroo last night"
Kade shook his head as he chuckled "It sure was a pleasure to meet you Riley, but may I ask what is a pretty little thing like you doin' out here on your own? " he purred pulling my hand up to his lips and pressing them ever so softly against the back of each finger one by one.
Man this guy was smooth, his accent rolled from his lips like pure sugar and his eyes captivated me. Pulling my hand away from his I picked up the reins and turned my attention from him, to where Andy was walking.
"Um, ah, well I kinda decided a ride would be nice and now I am heading home...I think" I replied.
Looking around me I realised I had no idea where I was going or where I was.
