Chapter Sixteen

(Author's Note:  I had decided to go a different way with this story so everything before now was a dream.)

The next morning, Brizee woke up and saw that she was in her old bedroom at her dad's house. She sat up and looked around and looked down and saw she had pjs on. She realized that it was all a dream. She got up and went out and saw Brad, Elizabeth, and Emily eating breakfast.

"Morning, honey," Brad said. She sat down.

"Morning, Dad," Brizee said.

"You okay," Brad said.

"Fine, just had a weird dream," Brizee said.

"So are you packed up and ready," Emily said.

"Yeah, I am," Brizee said. They went to meet up with the tour. Brizee looked out the window.

"Briz," Emily said.

"I'm fine, Em," Brizee said. They arrived and got out and saw the buses. They saw the guys waiting. They went over to them.

"Hi guys, I'm Emily and this is my stepsister, Brizee," Emily said.

"Nice to meet you both," Howie said. Brizee felt eyes on her and looked up and saw Nick staring at her. She smiled at him and he smiled at her. AJ started talking with Emily as they all boarded the buses. Emily and AJ sat down talking. Brizee sat down and Nick sat beside her.

"Hi there," Nick said.

"Hi," Brizee said. They began talking.

"How about we hang out when we get to Atlanta," Nick said.

"Sure," Brizee said smiling. They continued talking as the bus headed out on the road. Brizee and Emily went to the back and sat down on the couch and talked. Brizee quietly told her about the dream she had.

"That was some dream," Emily said.

"Yeah," Brizee said. They heard the guys yelling and went up and saw Nick sitting there with an angry look on his face. AJ had the same look. They looked up and saw them and got up and pulled them to the back and sat them down and stood in front of them.

"What's going on," Emily said.

"Just had an interesting phone call from a woman telling me and AJ that you two want to trap us," Nick said.

"What?" Emily said.

"Don't play innocent with us, okay, she said that you two are going to make sure we marry you two by getting us into bed and getting pregnant by us so we would have to marry you," AJ said. Emily and Brizee looked at each other.

"I should have known she would do something like this," Emily said.

"Who?" Brian said.

"My mother, she wants me to have the life she never had, marry a rich guy, have his kids, have the life of luxury," Emily said. Brizee sat there staring at her hands.

"You have nothing to say, your mother didn't put you up to this, Brizee," Nick said. Brizee looked at him and stood up.

"I don't know anything about this plan and neither does Emily, and for your information, my mother is dead, okay, she died six years ago in a car accident and then five years ago, my father married Emily's mother, my mother would never want me to trap a guy into marriage, she believed in love and honesty and she raised me that way," Brizee said. She pushed past them and went to her bunk and got in and closed the curtain and took a deep breath as tears ran down her cheeks.

Emily stood there looking at them. Nick and AJ looked at each other.

"We're sorry, we got the call," AJ said.

"I'm sorry for my mother, she goes overboard with everything and I would never go along with that plan, if she told me about that, I would have told her to fuck off," Emily said. AJ took her hand.

"Can you forgive me," AJ said. Emily nodded. Nick went to the bunk area and opened the curtain to Brizee's bunk. She looked at him.

"I'm sorry," Nick said. She got out and looked at him.

"I never would have done anything like that," Brizee said.

"I know that now, I didn't know what to think," Nick said.

"I know you guys have to be careful when it comes to girls because you don't know who is with you for what you do or who you are, Emily and I aren't not that way, Emily got her deal on her own, because she didn't know you guys, I sing, too, but I'm not going for a record deal because I get scared in front of an audience, I want to get to know the real Nick Carter, not the singer, the guy behind the scenes," Brizee said. Nick smiled and kissed her forehead.

"That is the greatest thing anyone has said to me," Nick said.

"It's the truth," Brizee said.

"I'm sorry about your mom," Nick said.

"Thanks," Brizee said. Nick went up front. Brizee sat down and smiled and sighed. Emily came into the bunk area and saw her and sat beside her.

"Everything okay?" Emily asked.

"Just great," Brizee said. She touched her forehead.

"Briz, did you and Nick kiss?" Emily asked.

"He kissed me on my forehead," Brizee said. Emily smiled and they talked.
