Part 9: The Aftermath

          The next morning at 7:10 Gon's alarm went off. Gon groaned. He didn't like waking up so early but at least today he could take his time getting ready. He remembered to change his cloths today. He threw on a pair of grey sweat pants and a green t-shirt. Gon looked down and saw a pair of black ripped jeans. This is when the memories of what unfolded last night came to him. His eyes widened and he silently screamed. "What the fuck! Why did we do that? We're just friends!" He swung open his door and took 4 huge, quick paced steps to the bathroom to wash out his mouth. 'God, how am I going to face him? Should I act like nothing happened? Maybe I should pretend it didn't happen.' He thought. That's when Gon saw killua standing at the door out of the corner of his eye. "Ha, baka. Why are you brushing your teeth so hard?" Killua said from the doorway. Gon turned bright red and mumbled a couple words hoping killua would just accept he couldn't understand him while he was brushing his teeth because Gon had no idea how he would respond. 'Did killua forget or is he just really calm?' Gon thought. "Well I'll let you finished, I'm going to go get my pants back." Killua said walking away. Well that was Gon answer.

When Gon was done he ran downstairs. The smell of bacon and eggs filled his nose. "Oh my gosh, aunt mito. Smells great." Gon said while inhaling the wonderful scent. "Well it's Killua's first breakfast, I wanted him to feel excited to stay with us." Aunt mito responded. Gon sat down at the table and a plate was placed in front of him that was filled with food. "So what did you two get up to last night. Did you get along?" Aunt mito asked. Gon took a couple seconds to think of a response. "Uh yeah we just watched a movie, we actually met at school so we kinda knew each other." Their conversation was interrupted by killua walking into the kitchen. "Good morning killua, sit down for some breakfast." Aunt mito said with a kind expression. "Oh thanks, smells great. The dinner you made us was also delicious." He said while plopping into the seat across from Gon. Gon's eyes were glued to his plate to avoid eye contact with killua. The three sat and ate breakfast while making small talk.

The two boys left for school after packing their school bags. Aunt mito was kind enough to make them both a school lunch. They began walking to school, they didn't speak much. After about five mins of awkward silence killua took out his phone and his ear buds then he asked Gon if he'd like to listen to some music with him. Gon accepted the offer and killua played the same playlist as last night. Gon heard some quick footsteps behind him and them someone threw their arms around his shoulders from behind. Gon could tell it was a female from how light and soft their arms were. "Hey Gon. Good morning!" It was Retz. "Oh hey, good morning" he said turning his head, he didn't realize how close their faces would be so he quickly looked forward again. Killua shifted over a bit, creating some distance from him and the pair. Killua was glaring at her. Retz brought her mouth close to Gon's ear and whispered "it's fine, you can be friends with him, just know he's a weirdo." She unhooked her arms from around his neck and the three continued their walk to school.

They all had very different walks. Gon had a upbeat walk with his hands holding his backpack's straps, killua was slightly slumped over with his hands in his pockets and retz had her arms behind her back. They arrived at school soon. Gon couldn't tell if he was relived he had run into Retz or not. He didn't want the new friends he made from his gym class to see him with killua because of their view of him but walking with her made him less awkward since he wasn't alone with killua. They put their shoes on and they went their separate ways to class. When Gon got to class he was happy to see Kurapika and Leorio were already there. He liked these new friends because they weren't awkward or made him feel insecure about his friendship with killua. They all said good morning and talked about the video games they played while waiting for the teacher to start the lesson. "Ok class take out your books." Said the teacher, Ms. Bisky.

The rest of the period went on the same as the day prior. When the class ended the trio promised to eat lunch together once again and they went to their next classes. Gon got to class and sat in his seat. He waited in anticipation for killua to come. He knew that killua also remember the night before. Gon thought it was kinda funny that the night before he had dick in his mouth and now he was seated quietly in class. Gon was so occupied with thoughts from last night he had completely forgotten that Pokkel, Ponzu and of course Retz were in his class. He saw the three of them enter the class. They passed Gon's seat on the way to their own. Pokkel and Ponzu said hi and continued walking. Retz stopped to talk to Gon for a moment. "Hey you, how was your first period?" She asked. "Yeah it was good, nothing too interesting though." Gon replied smiling. "Well I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with us." Said Retz. "Oh sorry Retz, I don't mean to be rude but I already promised a couple guys in my first period class to eat lunch with them." Gon said in response. He felt kinda bad. It's not like he didn't want to not eat lunch with her but he had already made a promise, also something about Retz made him a bit uneasy. "Haha no worries, well if you ever want to join us you can" she said with a wide smile. They said goodbye and Retz walked away to go sit. All this talk of lunch made Gon hungry.

The bell rang and just as it did killua strolled in. "Ok hurry up and sit down young man or I'll mark you late." The teacher said. Killua sat down and smiled at Gon as a greeting. Killua looked so cool to Gon in this moment. Gon listen to the teacher talk about some stupid stuff he couldn't careless about. "We will be working on a group project. The groups will be of two. Make them now." Said the teacher. Killua was leaning back in his seat, he knocked his head back to look at Gon. They made eye contact for a moment. His hair appeared soft and the tips of his hair were touching Gon's desk. "Partners?" Killua said breaking the silence. Gon nodded. Without thinking he stuck his hand out and began to twirl a piece of killua's hair around in his fingers. Killua was still looking at Gon but Gon was starring at the hair intwined in his fingers. "Want to eat lunch with me and my friends?" Gon said removing his hand. "Mmhph" Killua said to say yes. The bell rang and he rolled his neck up to face forward.
