At the begging it's gonna be set in the past where Killua is only six and Alluka is four. Ik Alluka is only a year younger then killua but it's better if he is two years older for the sake of the story. Ok let's go.

The night large house felt cold and empty, the large rain drops hit the roof with loud taps which could be heard from inside the house easily. The sophisticated families four children where the only ones home. Illumi, the eldest was studying in his room, Malluki the second eldest was playing video games and the youngest Kalluto, who was only a toddler was fast asleep being soothed by the rain. Killua was all alone in the large, cold and dark living room awaiting his parents return. It had been four days since he had seen his father and mother. The head of the Zoldyck family, Killua's father was an intimidating, strong man. Everyone respected him, especially his children. He wore black suits, his shoes were always shined and his was tie was always so tight it looked almost as if he was being strangled. This suit was a requirement if you were a loan shark. (Someone who loans money to people who are desperate with high interest rates and then threatens them with violence when they aren't paid back) His parents many days away from home were a common occurrence. The children would take care of them selves and they would fight between them which always ending in someone bleeding.

The head lights of a car shined through the window, filling the living room with light. Killua recognized the black, shiny clean car to be his families. All the neighbours had mini vans their wives made them buy for transporting their children or shopping. Despite the neighbourhood having many families none of the zoldyck children knew any of the other kids. The car pulled into the driveway and turned off which once again made the room fill with darkness. Killua was on his tippy toes, he was barely tall enough to be able to see their chauffeur get out of the car, walk around to the back seat door and open it. His father got out and then followed by his mother, none of his siblings had gone with his parents so it confused him when a final person, a child got out of the car.

Killua rushed to the front door and opened it with his small hands, slightly struggling. He looked and felt small in the frame of the door. His family approached the front door of the house and the small child followed but now he could tell it was a little boy. His parents were tired, they walked passed him leaving the boy who looked only as if he was two to stand in front of Killua. His oversized, dirty clothing had a splatter of blood and some was on his small feminine face. Killua used his thumb to wipe off what he could and cupped his cheek. He knew something bad had happened but he didn't dare ask because he knew his curiosity would result in a slap from his mother. Killua felt a strong urge to take care of the child in front of him. He took his hand and they walked inside the house. Strangely even though this house had felt cold only moments ago this new person seemed to make it suddenly become warm.

Over time Killua got to know this new person he now considered a sibling. His name was Alluka, he was 2 years old and all Killua knew was this little boy's parents were killed. His dark past intrigued Killua, making him almost feel as if Alluka was the main character in a video game or movie but it also made him want to ensure nothing bad would ever happen to this person he had grown to care so deeply about. Killua's parents had no interest in Alluka, in fact they seemed to dislike him and forget about him. They would neglect to set a spot for him at the table or forget him at the store and his brothers were no different. All the men in his home were cold and rude, his mother was the only one somewhat kind to Killua but even then she was just as scary as the rest of them. Gradually Alluka picked up on how Killua liked his mother best out of all his family. So Alluka began to dress like her and grow out his hair in an effort to become more like her.

Killua never had a sister so he abused the circumstances under which made Alluka act and dress more feminine. He called Alluka his little sister and eventually began using female pronouns. Killua was smart and he began to realize why Alluka was acting like this when Alluka would always watch his mother and imitate the phrases she would say to her children but he decided to act oblivious to the whole situation simply because they both seemed to enjoy it.

As the years past by Alluka didn't seem to remember she was ever a boy, now she preferred female pronouns and genuinely looked like a little girl. Killua would also forget but would be reminded by his family constantly referring to her as a boy which infuriated him since he knew this made Alluka sad, he would raise his voice at his family to ensure they would be more considerate towards her but the cycle of them calling her a he and killua getting angry would always repeat. His anger grew less and less every time and Alluka would be less sad every time she was misgendered and eventually they both began to try to ignore it.

Alluka and killua had woken up for the morning and were both headed to the kitchen when they met outside their bedroom doors. Killua who was now thirteen and Alluka who was eleven would always accompany each other almost everywhere they went. "Big brother I'm going to use the bathroom so you go ahead to the kitchen." Alluka said with a smile while stepping into the bathroom. Killua reluctantly continued and he walked down the stairs to the kitchen. He had his hands in his pockets when he entered to see his family already seated at the table all eating and doing their own thing. They all exchanged nods as a good morning. "Where is he?" His eldest brother Illumi asked who was seated drinking coffee at the table. Killua glared at him, knowing Alluka was the only one not in the room. "If you can't refer to Alluka as a girl you clearly don't care." Killua grabbed some bread and dropped it into the toaster. "Well Killua he is a boy, he is only pretending to be your sister." His mother said budding into the conversation. "What the fuck! Why did you even bring Alluka here if you can't respect her?" Killua was mad, his voice was raised and his language shocked his mother but not the rest of the family, they all expected him to respond this way after hearing what their mother had just said in his presence. His mother's eyes welled up with tears and she stood up out of her chair and walked over to him. She raised her hand and slapped him earring a smirk from his brother Malluki. "How could you swear at your mother! Maybe we should have just killed him too!" His mother yelled. Killua was shocked, his head still facing sideways from the slap he had received. What did his mother mean when she said "too"? Leaving his toast in the toaster he rushed back upstairs. "You shouldn't hit him, and what you let slip won't do any good. He didn't ask any questions when he was younger but knowing the way he is now he will be interrogating us later." His father sighed while continuing to read the news paper from his seat.

Killua stood outside the bathroom door waiting for his sister. Only a couple moments of waiting later and Alluka opened the door. She was confused when her older brother wrapped his arms around her, he hugged her tight. He had forgotten that Alluka's parents were killed and she never found new parents here. He had erratically pieced together what he could from what his mother had said and what he could remember when he first saw Alluka. When Alluka had shown up she was wearing dirty cloths that were too big on her and she was thin and hungry. Killua knew his parents did some sketchy stuff involving loaning money, that's why they were so rich and a lot of people feared his father and mother but he never asked questions. "Big brother? I love hugs but what's all this about?" Alluka asked with a cheerful tone. Killua had forgotten where he was for a moment, his body was in a comfortable place but his mind was racing. "I'm sorry, you deserve better parents." Killua whispered. "But big brother... I don't care since I have you. I'm the lucky one, you don't give attention like this to our other siblings." Alluka always knew how to be great full for what she had. Killua pulled her in closer. "Let's wait till everyone is done eating then we can have the kitchen to ourselves." Killua smiled and they walked to sit at the top of the stairs.

"Goodnight Alluka." Killua said as he shut the door to Alluka's room. Killua walked down the now dark hallway to his room, the day had been uneventful since this morning which was a good thing in this house. He wasn't sure what to think of the things he discovered this morning. He was thinking the worst possible things, did Alluka's real parents take out a loan with my dad? Who killed them and why? With all these questions filling his head how could he ever possibly just go to his room and sleep. Killua needed to know.
