The day after the field trip was a Thursday. On the weekends they would have sleepovers in each others rooms and end up cuddling till dawn of the next morning. Killua awoke to a light knocking on his door and someone calling for him to open the door. He knew Gon would have just barged in and from the female voice he heard and presses of elimination he knew it was Mito. While rubbing his eyes and stumbling over his dirty cloths that were on the floor from the day prior he made his way to the door. Aunt mito had a concerned look on her face. This is when killua knew something was wrong. "Killua, good morning. I just wanted to let you know Gon was feeling a bit il-" she was cut off by Killua slipping past her. He swung open Gon's room door and immediately kneeled beside the bed. "Gon are you ok" he said in a soft tone while picking up Gon's hand. Gon rolled onto his side to face Killua giving him a tired smile. Killua leaned forward pressing his forehead to Gon's. Gon blushed with embarrassment a bit because he was expecting something else. He could see killua was worried. Gon put his hand on killua's cheek. "I'm ok. You have to get going to school." They pulled apart. Killua examined his friend, but Gon couldn't tell wether he was trying to gauge how sick he was or if he was trying to absorb Gon's face as if he would never see him again. This whole experience felt so dramatic to Gon but killua hadn't had someone he cared about so much or worried about so deeply for a while and Gon knew that.

Killua reluctantly left the room after tucking Gon in as tight as he could. He closed the door and began to get ready for the day. Killua thought about a couple things while brushing his teeth, 'That idiot was probably touching everything in the fucking museum and then touching his face...... but what if the stress from yesterday made him sick.' He stood at the top of the stairs genuinely debating wether just letting himself fall down the stairs because of how tired he was and this would be less effort, he shook off the thought and made his way downstairs by foot. He was even more slouched then normal. Killua checked his watch and decided to pass on breakfast. He waved goodbye to aunt mito and started his walk to school. This was the first time other then the very first day of school they hadn't walked together. Even when one of them needed to go a bit early to talk to a teacher or pick up something from a shop on their way they would still accompany the other.

As Killua walked down the street, gradually getting closer the the school he heard a quicken in pace of foot steps behind him. Killua was always aware of his surroundings, even when he was falling asleep or just waking up. His body pivoted to face whoever was coming towards him. "BIG BROTHERRRR!!" A cheery voice yelled. It was Alluka, killua's younger sister. A smile grew on his face. This was exactly what he needed to make his day better, seeing the only family member he ever liked, for the first time in over a year. Although it had only been a little over a month since he had last seen his family, Alluka had gone on a student exchange program for school. They shared a hug. "It's so good to see you, when did you get back?" Killua asked. "Well I got back yesterday but when I got home no one was there. I was worried everyone forgot about me. Gotoh showed up and told me the family was away on business." "I'm sorry, if I had known you were back I would have gone immediately." Killua felt bad but what else could he have done, this only made him mad his parents didn't bother telling him she was coming back. "Well mom and dad will be back next week so I'm not worried, but I do wish you would come and protect me in that huge house." She said clinging to his arm as they began to walk again. "Yeah, well I've been staying with a friend, but I suppose it's time to come home when the family gets back." Killua tried to hide the sadness he felt right now, Alluka's feeling were highly affected by killua's and this is how it had been since she was little. Alluka walked with killua to school even though she didn't have to start going to school again till the second semester and even then she was still in middle school. Alluka did most of the talking, she told him about stories of her time abroad.

Alluka waved to her brother at the front entrance. When killua tuned around his smile faded. All he could think was how excited he was imagining when he'd see his sister again but now the day had come and all he could do was be sad about not living with Gon any more and worry if Gon was feeling better yet. The day felt long and tiresome. When the lunch bell rang killua was shocked he had only been there for two periods. He dragged himself through the halls and finally made it to the cafeteria where he met Leorio and Kurapika. They looked shocked when they saw killua shuffle towards the table. "God dude you look like absolute dog shit." Leorio said as killua took a seat putting his head down. A faint "thanks" came from the lump he was. "Don't you have your lunch lady thingie?" Kurapika reminded him. "GOD DAMN IT!" Killua yelled and the 20 or so kids already in the cafeteria shifted their eyes onto him. Killua blushed and flopped back down. Kurapika and Leorio looked at each other concerned. "Yo dude maybe ask if you can skip it today, you've never missed, don't you get a day off." Leorio said. Killua stood up and walked over to the serving area where he would work. He talked to some woman standing there and she patted him on the back. Killua made his way back and held up a thumbs up to Kurapika and Leorio but with a straight face. As he sat back down Leorio decided he wanted to get to the bottom of this. "So what's up, is this all cause Gon wasn't here today? He's probably just tired from the field trip." "He's sick, and yeah I guess that's most of it but it's also just some family stuff."

Leorio picked at it bit more trying to get killua to spill the beans but to no avail. "Ok imma take a leak, I'll be back." As Leorio walked away Kurapika slid closer to killua. "So about what you said yesterday, you guys really aren't dating." Kurapika asked. Killua had completely forgotten him and Gon were completely caught red handed yesterday, he let out a small gasp and turned red. This made Kurapika chuckle a bit. Killua thought about his response. Well it was true they weren't dating, just really close friends but something felt weird saying that they weren't dating at all. "Kurapika, we aren't dating. It's like what we said." Kurapika looked at his face trying to study his expression. "Me and Leorio have been friends for years and we haven't done anything like that. Are you sure you don't like him as more then a friend." Killua paused. He looked down and picked at his nails. "I don't know, I haven't had a friend that I've been this close to before." Killua said looking back up at Kurapika. "Sorry I don't mean to pry, you should just think about it." Leorio retuned and sat back down. Killua thought about it for a moment, he wondered what Gon might be feeling.

Killua's phone began to ring. Killua's eyes light up and Kurapika and Leorio knew exactly who is was by the expression painted on killua's face. Killua answered the phone before walking off. He sat in the stairway closest to the cafeteria.

Gon: heyyy, I hope you weren't busy.

Killua: yeah no worries, I was just sitting down for lunch with Leorio and Kurapika.

Gon: hehe, I totally forgot about the whole Kurapika situation. He didn't get mad or say anything bad to you did he, I wish I was there.

Killua: yeah.....

Gon: is something bothering you? Ya sound like weird or something?

Killua: nope, just a bit tired without you around is all.

Gon: oh you miss me that much huh? Gosh I'm blushing sooo muchhhh right now, I actually might pass away.

Killua: Gosh, stop being embarrassing and don't pass away dummy.

Gon: well I miss you too so hurry on your way back home. I feel better already just talking to you.

Killua: yeah... um Gon I have to tell you something.

Gon: oh ok, spit it out.

Killua: My sister, she..... Yeah never mind.

Gon: wait what, common you can't leave me hanging.

Killua: oh it's nothing, she just called earlier is all. I have to go now Kurapika is leaving for art class now.

Gon: ok bye-

'What the fuck?' Gon thought. He made a note to try and figure out why killua was acting like a weirdo when he got home. He wondered if maybe his sister said something weird or maybe Kurapika.

Killua got up and began to walk back to the table. He told Kurapika and Leorio that Gon just called to say he was feeling better. And with that he grabbed his backpack and the three headed to their next class of the day.
