Ch.1

*In this alternate universe, Steve meets someone. I am not the best at writing so bare with me. Please feel free to comment. I won't judge. So before you read, just know that I did alter some things so that it fits with the story I am trying to create. I tried to give as much detail to this so that you as the reader really understand and feel these characters. We will cry, laugh, get angry, be confused, everything. January 1st, 2026

Why is it that we are so ready to give up so much for other people but when it comes to doing it for ourselves we hesitate? This life has brought twists and turns that I never even imagine. My name is Rose Rogers. Yes, you guessed it, I married the star-spangled man with a plan. He is not gonna like what I said but it's better than capiscle. I met Steve Rogers, the love of my life on April 14th, 2013. Little did I know that this would change the rest of my life. So let's go back, shall we? To where it all started.

April 14th, 2013

"I'm literally leaving right now." Today Natasha and I will go on our first mission with Captain America. Well more like I will be. Nat met him during the first battle in New york. I was there but right after everything went down, I was in charge of search and rescue. Though, I saw a glimpse of Steve Rogers I never really met him. Now Fury has brought him into shield and getting him adjusted to this modern time. I can't imagine what would be going through his mind right now. Waking up 70 years and everyone you knew is either of old age or passed on. That has gotta be something.

"My favorite redhead," I open Nat's car door and grab the ice tea she got me from Starbucks.

"You mean your only redhead friend," Nat smirks at me.

"Well there was the little mermaid," I wink back at her as she flicks me off.

"Hey! be nice and watch the road, Romanoff." I playfully yell at her.

"Whatever, ready to meet Captain America?"

I chuckle at her comment."I guess so I mean I heard a lot about him but it just feels like another mission." I take a sip of my drink.

"Good morning Agent Williams and Agent Romanoff. You will be meeting Nick in his office today." His secretary tells us.

"Okay thank you," I smile at her as she gives us our Level 6 IDs.

Rumlow holds the elevator for us. "Romanoff, Rose''.

"That would be Williams Rumlow," I correct him politely.

Rumlow has invited me everywhere, flirted lightly on occasions. I told him I really wasn't interested but he still attempts. I even told Nat I had a bad feeling about him. Just don't know what it is yet.

"Sorry, Williams I meant." He clears his throat.

The elevator opens just in time for us to leave. "See you on the mission," He nods his head.

I nod back. Nat starts laughing to herself. "You know I don't get any guys that like me but when I do, it is weird guys like that," I shake my head.

When Nat and I turn the corner, Fury is talking to Steve Rogers outside the door. I watch them both turn to see us in full uniform. I directly make eye contact with Steve. Why did I just say Steve in my head? I don't even know him.

"Captain, I know you are familiar with Romanoff. I liked you to meet Agent Rose Williams. They both will be joining you on today's mission." Fury introduces us, I hold out my hand to him.

"Pleasure to meet you Captain," Even in those few seconds of a handshake I could feel a shock go through me. This was something different.

"Same here" He smiles and nods. "Alright then, Let's get the jet ready." Fury signals us out the office.
