"Rose, Rose,'' I feel a nudge as I open my eyes slowly.

"Steve?" I try to adjust my eyes to the morning light.

"What happened?" I start to cough a little.

"You passed out when the building collapsed." I look at Nat's face which is covered in dirt. Steve helps me out of the truck keeping our heads down. I see this small house that we walk up to. Steve knocks on the door and Sam opens it.

"Hey, man," Sam's eyes look at us with worry.

"I'm sorry about this, we need a place to lay low, '' Steve tells him.

"Everyone we know is trying to kill us," Nat says helplessly.

"Not everyone," Sam leads us inside.

Good thing me and Nat had the idea to bring a change of clothes in the truck that thankfully didn't get blown to bits. I dry my hair off on the bed in the guest room while Steve cleans his hands off in the bathroom.

"You okay?" He looks over at me.

"Yeah," I say faintly still  trying to wrap my head around my parents. Steve takes a seat in front of me

"What's going on?" He looks concerned.

I sigh out. "It just doesn't add up. My mother working for hydra. The car crash. So all these years, people have been keeping this from me. I have been secretly working for a dangerous organization without knowing it." I fight the tears that want to come.

"No one blames you. You didn't know. None of us knew." Steve leans closer.

"Thank you for saving us back there. Nat and I owe you one." I look into his iris blue eyes. He has the look that makes you believe that you are safe and sound.

"It's okay. That's what friends are for." He smiles and takes his hand to move a piece of hair behind my cheek. He slowly moves his hand underneath my chin.

I bring myself closer to him and our lips meet. It is very soft and warm. We both pull away slowly. We hear the door open and go back to a normal state. Nat enters the room

"Am I interrupting something," she says as she sits on the bed. I am still a little flustered by that kiss. She looks so out of it.

"Hey, you okay?" my attention turns to her while she sighs for a moment.

"I just feel like I traded the KGB for Hydra. I feel like I can't tell who lies I am telling," I put my hand on her shoulder. "Hey, no one knew nat. You are such a good person." I reassure her. Nat looks over Steve.

"Do you trust me?" Nat knows through everything, she needed to really assure Steve that she was on his side.

"I do know, I'm always honest" He smiles softly at her. "Hey I made breakfast if you guys eat that sort of thing," Sam says from the doorway.
