"I apologize for that, so far, but... you all prepare for the psyche!"
In a cold, damp but not unoccupied hall, Jaune Arc, a mountain Aryan of a man, clad as a regular joe in Saturday was busy bowling with his friends at night, lifting up Mercury Black, Professor Ozpin, and Ruby Rose. Eventually, the elevator suspension forced it up but before...
"I believe that there's no places on Remnant where people can go and live happy."
"I believe so too. Not for me. For you."
Ruby blushed with the immense suggestion Jaune laid out for her.
"Oh my... Jaune's wanting to live with me... so romantic."
Yang, Tai, and Qrow looked in shock at Ruby's now mature voice.
"Sis! Where is that cute, squeaky voice I missed?!" Yang replied, hugging Ruby with anime tears.
Ruby rolled her eyes and shoved Yang off.
"I'm not a little girl anymore, Yang, stop treating me like one."
Eventually, the suspension snapped and took Jaune upwards. He prepared his laser cannon and upon hearing a dark and eerie voice.
"What are you doing in there? An old friend comes to visit? I haven't had a visitor in a long time."
Everyone looked at Watts, with the scientist being confused, as he admitted he never recalled meeting the boy.
Jaune sprang out of the elevator and saw him: a disfigured Arthur Watts, whom he fired at, though the lasers fail to penetrate through the fortified glass.
"Yes, I know you, we have met before. I think today we meet... for the last time."
He stands up and presses a button.
"Captain Arc!"
Behind him was a moving conveyor belt that held the brains of various subjects Watts had extracted over the years. He picked up one he was quite familiar with.
"Still fighting after these years. I remember... your friend."
Now the memories were about to flash of the very young, inexperienced friend that he was certainly familiar with. He could remember the time 14 years when he was pinned by walking metal giants, unable to move and unable to break free, and was given the right by Watts to choose either his old friend or the new recruit for his wicked experiments, he just chose the latter and witnessed as his back was sliced off, his skull drilled into saw blades sending blood and pieces of bone and flesh flying off, his brain placed in a tube, all while the boy screamed in death right after Watts secured the glass tube: his latest creation had come to pass, a bulk of a machine operated by the brain.
Jaune learned the meaning of terror when it came to losing people he was supposed to protecting seeing them through.
Nearly everyone, mostly those with a weak stomach of seeing a human being killed in a way never seen before, vomited in their empty buckets of popcorn, forcing Eternity to clean it all away with a wave of a single hand.
"That... was so... sick."
"I never thought Arthur was capable of that."
Salem was just as shocked as they were. She never performed experiments on that magnitude before.
Watts was just as the same as them, having never performed a surgical method that grotesque before. He just continued puking on the bucket Eternity replaced for him.
