Chapter 7
Today marks the second Friday of October and also the 2nd month of Marco Lancaster as my personal driver. He has drove me to cheer practice on weekends, to the mall, the SPA, school, and my dad's office that is all the way up north. Somehow, he's become my bodyguard as well. There was this time at the mall; some guy was trying to get my number and he wouldn't let me go. So, Marco stepped in and said something to him which had the guy leave.
Wherever I went, he was there. I did not mind though. His company is actually pretty fun and chill. I feel like I can be anything I want to be or say whatever because he won't be surprised those were coming out from my mouth. It's like he can read right through me.
He knows when exactly I would say a rude remark and he has a comeback for it too. In the past months, I see him more as my friend now and no longer just my driver or some creep. Although, there are times where he does or say something that makes me want to barf or roll my eyes. He can be annoying too sometimes.
And I know he's gotten used to my wits and don't mind the insults throw at him anymore, sometimes.
Before I forget, I did mention today was the second Friday of October and that means the others and I would be going to the private beach that Brook owns. We spend the night there since she has a beach house that can hold up to 10 people.
I wanted to just carpool and ride with Brook or Maddy but I know Brook is already taking three other guys from the basketball team and Maddy would be taking her boyfriend with her. I am so not going to third-wheel those two. I can actually get into an accident with them. Maddy and her boyfriend would start touching each other, which her boyfriend will eventually lose control of the car.
"Hey, I don't have a ride to the beach," I said to the phone.
"Yes, you do. You're riding with me," Brook replied.
"No, Brook. Don't you remember the last time I rode with you and the boys?" I reminded her. It was a long story but I ended up having to get a new phone and a new hairdo because the boys 'accidentally' threw my phone out the car and 'accidentally' put gum on my hair.
"Ugh, go ask Damon then," she suggested. She didn't say Maddy because she knows too how it is like riding with her and her boyfriend.
"Why don't you ride with him and take one of the boys with you? And then, I'll drive your car," I suggested instead.
"I am not letting anyone drive my car like how you let that creep drive yours," she said on the line.
"Fine," I groaned, "I'll ask Damon." Then, she hangs up. I texts Marco to pick me up from the house. He comes after 5 minutes and then I directed him to Damon's address.
Marco just waits in the car. I didn't want to let him go yet because what if Damon did not want to take me?
"I'll be right there," I hear his voice after I pressed the doorbell. In a few, the door swings open to reveal Damon in his long sleeve red plaid shirt and khaki shorts with a backpack hanging on his right shoulder.
"Great," I grinned, "You're going to the beach. Can I go with you?"
His face faltered. "I was hoping I can go with you. My car is in the shop right now."
I gave him a dull look. "How are you getting there if I can't take you?"
"We were going to ride the bus," he shrugged. He walks passed me and I turned as well. Apparently, the New Girl was standing on his front lawn, waiting for him with a bag on her shoulders.
"We?" I questioned with disgust in my voice.
Damon turns around to look at me frozen on the front steps, "Yeah, Lively is coming with us."
