1.98 At The Beach

A few months later. At the beach.

The winter was gone. Thank god. We were all at the beach. And walkers were coming out of the ocean. Some of them had gills, some were wrapped in ocean plants. oh lord.

we had formed a militia in order to train the several residents of the communities to fight against future threats. Well, i hope that the future threats will be walkers and not people who think they can rule the world.

Daryl and i were learning ASL to communicate better with Connie. She told me that she liked how Daryl is when he is around me. She said that he isn't grumpy when he is around me and that he actually smiles. She's really happy for us. She's the best.

We walked to the old rusty boat that was on the shore. Ezekiel knocked against the door to wake up the walkers that were in there. Then he opened the door, some water walkers came our way. God were they ugly. Aaron was on the first line of 7. The front was holding shields.The archers were in the back aiming.

Aaron "Archers, regroup."

The walkers fell to the ground.

Aaron "March"

more walkers came out.

Aaron "Spears. "

Alden and his line started to kill the walkers.

Even more walkers came out.

Aaron "And halt. "

Michonne "Open ranks. "

She, Magna and Luke came forward through the shields and killed the other half of the walkers. Daryl and i were standing at the side, watching.

Michonne " Back up. Back up. It's about to get real, y'all. Everyone, steady. "

Out of nowhere dozens of hunters walked out of the boat.

Michonne „Hey, stay in your formations! Remember your trainin'! "

We all started to kill walkers.

Daryl and i were walking through the camp.

Me "training was worth the trip. "

Daryl "Yeah, they did well. Tara would've been proud. "

I nodded "Hm. Hope so. It's good to bring the kids also, let 'em see the ocean for the first time. "

Daryl nodded "Yeah, I know one idiot that would've loved this."

I shoved him a little, amused "shut up"

The kids had found a walker mask at the beach. i cannot believe this.

Aaron was talking to Gabriel through the radio "Kids found it by the estuary. River must've carried it down. -"

Gabriel " What does it mean? Are they back? "

Aaron "We don't know. But Alexandria should go on lockdown just in case. "

Michonne "Hold on. We don't have evidence to justify that. My official recommendation is that everyone should stay on alert until further notice. Eyes and ears open. That's it.

"Gabriel "Copy that. Over and out. "

Michonne " Sounds good. Over and out. I appreciate your caution, and I get it, but we do not need to start a panic."

Yumiko " A lot of stuff washed up ashore from the recent storm. Th-This might not mean anything. "

Aaron "Or it might mean something. Look, no one saw Alpha's herd move out, so maybe no one saw them move back in. But if there's a mask, maybe there are other signs of them out there. We owe it to our people to be sure."
