Chapter 6 Hoodie

Max

I wiped away my tears and went back to the place where Nathan was with Jefferson.

I woke up from my thoughts when I spotted Nathan... Luckily Jefferson was already gone. Also when I went downstairs, I saw how Nathan hold his right cheek with his hand... Probably because of the punch Jefferson gave him.

Max: "Nathan... Are you okay?" He smiles and nods.

Nathan: "And I think I was lucky... He really doesn't want to waste time with me... We should be careful now. He's totally crazy because he couldn't find you..."

Then he looked behind me. "And wheres...?"

Max: "She will join us later." Obviously a lie Max... You didn't even know where she went... "We should focus now... First of all... Do you have any idea where Victoria could be?"

Nathan: "Sorry Max... I didn't even get answers from Jefferson... So what now?" I thought for a moment.

Max: "I think we should go back to the party and ask people if they saw Victoria... Maybe someone saw something that could help us."

Nathan: "No way Max..." I was surprised by his reaction.

Max: "Umm... What? Do you have a better plan or something?" It was obvious he's doesn't like the plan but also... he didn't have any other plan.

Nathan: "Fine... I'll go and you're staying here... I couldn't risk that he finds you..."

Max: "Right... so you better leave me alone here at night." I said sarcastically.

Nathan: "Shit you're right..." He then stared at me... "Here take it... I hope Jefferson didn't recognize you with a hoddie." Then he handed me his hoodie. I didn't even get a chance to respond to him because he grabbed my hand and we went to the party. When we were almost there I put his hoodie on and hid my face. We stepped into the gym.

Max: "Okay... We should find Courtney or Taylor. If anyone could know something about Victoria... It will be them. I'll stay here and you should go to the VIP section."

Nathan: "I'm on it... And Max... uhh you know... better stay hidden... See that corner? I'll meet you there in 15 minutes." He turns and went to the VIP section.

I looked around... Brooke and Daniel are still here, Courtney isn't at the bar anymore, Justin got out of the bathroom and chats with a random girl and Allysa is no longer here... Not many choices to ask, but at least something.

Max: "Hey Brooke... Have you seen Victoria?"

Brooke: "No offense but seriously Max... First, you look after Nathan and now Victoria? I just... come on... it's party night and you obviously don't enjoy it... I thought that you're going to spend some time with Warren since you're going to drive in with him... but instead, you want to hang out with Nathan and Victoria? I've never thought you fall on their level." When she said that I sigh with disgust... She's obviously still mad that Warren asked me to go drive-in instead of her.

Max: "It's not like that... I just need to know the last time you saw Victoria."

Brooke: "I didn't pay attention to what's going on around me... you know... because of Daniel..." She blushed.

Max: "I see that he's interested in you." I give her a little smile.

Brooke: "Well at least somebody is interested in me... not like somebody..." It was obvious she's talking about Warren.

Daniel: "Brooke maybe we should... Oh... Hey Max... How are you? Have you find Nathan..."

Max: "Uhh yeah... I wanted to ask you something but... I could see you're busy." I saw both of them blushed... "Well, I have to go somewhere else... See you guys later..."

When I went away I was hearing Brooke how she spoke to Daniel.

Brooke: "Was that Nathans hoodie? Whatever... Daniel where were we...?"

When she says that my face turns red... Max! Wake up! You have to go!

Then I want to talk with Justin but I felt like someone is staring at me... That scares me so I looked around... I cover my face with a hoodie and hide behind the curtain between the VIP section and pool. I thought I was alone but It scares me when I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. At that moment I yelled but no one could hear me through loud music.

Max: "Warren what the hell... You scare me to death." I smiled at him because I was glad it was only him. But then I realize he looked at me... I think he's angry.

Max: "Warren?" I stared at him with worry expression. He got closer...

Warren: "Max what's going on? And please... tell me the truth..."

Max: "Why do you ask? Nothings going on..."

Warren: "Yeah sure... nothing is going on but for some damn reason, you're searching for Nathan... And don't lie to me... Alyssa told me that she saw you follow Nathan outside..."

Max: "Warren please let me explain I..."

Warren: "And speaking of... Why do you wear his hoodie...?"

Max: "Uhh..." I didn't know what to say.

Warren: "Okay that's enough." He grabbed my hand roughly.

Max: "Warren what's got into you... Stop! That hurt!" He stopped and looked at me.

Warren: "Sorry Max I didn't mean to be rude but... I just don't get it! Why did you follow Nathan?"

Max: "I don't have time to explain everything... I just wanted to ask him something and now I have to know the last time somebody saw Victoria."

Warren: "Woah so first Nathan and now Victoria? What the hell is wrong with you... you know them both... they're evil, mean, and every bad thing I can remember..."

Max: "Yeah yeah... but did you see her?"

Warren: "I saw her with Jefferson so I think she would be okay, so..."

Max: "Where!" I almost shout at him.

Warren: "Where? So you could go and get in trouble with Nathan and her? No way!" He wants to keep me away from them. But I raised my hand... I have to know where he spotted Victoria...

Warren: "Max what's going on? And please... tell me the truth..."

Max: "Ok... I don't have time to explain everything, but I looked for Nathan because I and Chloe thought that he is the bad guy, but it turns out he's not and we found out that Victoria is in danger. Are you with me so far?"

Warren: "Well that was unexpected but yeah... I guess so..."

Max: "And now we have to know immediately where should Victoria go with Jefferson."

Warren: "Well I saw her with Jefferson outside... At first, I thought they walked towards the parking lot but then they change their direction to the road that leads from the parking lot."

Wait a minute... So that person with a gun in the other timeline, when I was in the parking lot with Chloe and Nathan was Jefferson! He has to be somewhere near the parking lot because if Nathan wasn't hurt, he didn't show up... In the other timeline, he must notice how he was screaming, when he was on the ground. Luckily when we were alone in our timeline, he didn't hear anything... so there was nothing to grab his attention. When I thought of that, I felt like a cold shiver went through my body.

Max: "Thanks Warren... you're doing awesome... like you always do..."

Warren: "Max wait!"

I rush from my hiding place and spotted Nathan how he's waiting for me. I didn't allow him to react because I grab his hand and went outside quickly.

Well... Warren... I know you're pissed off, but that was really rude... Don't get jealous because Max spend so much time with Nathan :)
