Chapter 7 Hide and seek

Nathan

Ugh... Where is she? Fuck! I know that I shouldn't leave her alone... What if Jefferson already found her? I looked behind the curtain... Finally! After a while, I spotted her. Holy shit I've never been so scared in my life...

I wanted to say something, but she grabbed my hand and lead me outside.

Nathan: "Max slow down! What happened? And your nose... is bleeding again..."

Max: "I will explain later!" And she drags me outside.

I don't know why is she running... I lost my patience and stopped her when we were in front of the school.

Nathan: "Max! What the fuck is going...?" I stopped talking because from afar I could hear a familiar and also annoying voice.

Warren: "Hey Max! Please wait! Where are you?!"

Nathan: "Shit!" I said and took Max to the dark corner between school and gym... It was dark so I hope he didn't see us. Without realizing I pinned Max against the wall and hid her head by pressing her to my chest. Then I looked from the corner and saw Gayram running around and shouting Max's name. Before he got away I had time to think... I just remembered how I spoke with Vic... She told me that he had a crush on Max... I ignored that since we like to call him Gayram. But when I heard him shouting her name...

What if Max likes him? And why does it piss me off? Do I care for her... like in a different way? All the voices in my head spoke to me. Am I actually falling for her? When I ask myself, in my mind every other voice shuts up. The only thing I could feel was my heart because I finally realize how we were close... My heart beating got stronger...

Max

He quickly reacted and dragged me to the corner where usually students smoke. He pinned me against the wall and hid my head...

I didn't resist... I dug my head into his chest and close my eyes. While he held me, I feel safe...

The wind around us was cold but he keeps me warm... Then he dug my head deeper into his chest...He smells like an ocean... that reminds me of the whale I saw in my vision. With the smell of the ocean, I could almost hear the sound of it... It calms me down... The sound of the ocean and his heart beating... I feel so... so comfortable and calm... It was like a dream I never want to wake up...

Nathan

Finally... He left... I slowly released Max from my grip but it looks like she doesn't want to... That makes me blush...

Nathan: "So Max... Have you got anything?"

Max: "Shhh... Not here...We should find a place where no one going to following us or surprise us... you could see it a couple of minutes ago."

Nathan: "What about my dormitory? Nobody will be there during the party."

Max: "Good idea... Now let's get out of here before someone sees us again." And we rushed to the dormitory.

We went inside the dormitory and led our steps up the stairs. When we were on the floor in front of the girl's dormitory, I startled because Max grabs my jacket and push me behind the wall...

Nathan: "Max! What the..!" She put her hand on my mouth and I'm glad she did, because at that moment Jefferson came out from the girl's dormitory. How could she know about that? I was confused... I looked at her and saw blood flowing from her nose again... Hope she's okay...

Jefferson: "Ugh! Where the fuck is she! I should write that dumbass... If we didn't find her! I will..." Then he stopped... "Wait a minute..." An impish smile appeared on his face and went to the boy's dormitories where was Nathans room. He shuts the door behind him.

Nathan: "How did you know about Jefferson...?" I whispered but she didn't listen to me.

Max: "At least we know that he won't return to my place..." And she opened the door. I stared at her...

Max: "Well? U going?"

Nathan: "Uh... Yeah... Sorry..."

We make sure that nobody is around in the hall... and we went to her room... I knew exactly where it was... it's obvious since Vic had her room opposite to Max. She shut the door and sighed.

Max: "Hope nobody saw us..." She smiles at me.

Nathan: "Yeah..." There was silence... I was looking around her room...

Max: "Ugh... Are you cereal? Jefferson didn't have to make this mess... even if I have no idea what he could be looking for." She started picking books and pictures from the floor.

Nathan: "Cereal? Who says that?" I chucked. She didn't answer... just smile at me... I'd rather help her... I can continue to investigate her room after.

Max: "Oh... I almost forgot... here... thanks..." She handed me my hoodie I lent her.

Nathan: "No problem... Btw... Nice place you have... Less dark than mine I have to say..." I smiled. Then I was looking at her wall full of pictures while she compared her books and other stuff. Suddenly my attention grabs her table... It was full of Maxs selfies... I know that Vic makes fun of her because of that... But I should remind her she likes selfies too...

I sigh... In every photo... for me... she looks beautiful... like an angel with bright blue eyes, soft brown hair and with a few cute freckles on her face...I stared at the pictures... like for a long time...

Max: "Umm... Nathan?" Then I realize Max watches me... Shit! I twitched and quickly react.

Nathan: "Uhh... I just make sure that no photos aren't missing..." Shit! Shit! That was awkward... quickly say something dumbass... and no words came out from my mouth... And I know I was already red like a tomato.

Max: "So... Did you find anything?"

Nathan: "Nope... I think you don't miss a single photo." I thought that embarrassing thing is over but then she laughed.

Max: "No... I mean if you got something about Victoria..."

Max

I know he was embarrassed... but I can't hold that laugh anymore... Awww... I just can't help it but he was so cute at that moment. It made me blush when I realize he stared at my photos of me, but not that much like him... I could tell he knows that his face is fully red.

Jesus Max... Stop thinking about him and listen to him!

Nathan: "And that's it... in other words, I've got nothing we could use... Some people rather avoiding her for knowing reasons."

Max: "I could tell." I said ironically... Hope he understands that how I mean it... It looks like he understands.

Nathan: "And how ends your investigation?"

Max: "Well... Here's what I know..."
