Authors POV

"Would you dance with me?" Taehyung asked Y/N.

He was looking in her eyes, feeling nervous but hopeful, hopeful she would take his hand. It symbolizes their story in some way, Taehyung took Y/N's hand when she offered him friendship, and now she would take his hand for his.

Y/N was just as nervous as Taehyung, anxious to see him. She didn't really want to go today, but Jimin made her go, partially because he knew Jungkook would bring Taehyung. Seeing Taehyung standing in front of her right now brought back all of the feelings she has for him.

Jimin saw how miserable Y/N has been without Taehyung, and knowing they feel something for each other, they decided to step in. They may have hurt each other, but it is clear that they hurt each other even more by staying away.

Y/N was hesitating to take Taehyung's hand, she really wants to and wants to just be by his side again, but he betrayed her and harmed her trust. She should have been honest with Taehyung about her fear for Namjoon and Jin, but she was still too invested in her popularity.

Taehyung made her change that, he made her see that the best friends might not be earned through popularity, but with trust. That's why she refused his friendship when he came by her house a few weeks ago, that trust was gone, because they both harmed it.

But people deserve second chances, and Taehyung is someone she was willing to give one after a lot of thinking and reflecting. This is the reason why she came in the first place, knowing that if she did, she would have to talk to him one way or another. She smiled at him and took his hand.

Taehyung felt butterflies rushing through his stomach as he felt her soft touch again, the touch he has missed the most. They slowly made their way to the dance floor and just danced with each other.

They looked in each other's eyes, completely lost in their stares. For a moment, they allowed themselves to forget about their troubles and just enjoy this moment, dancing in each others arms, but that didn't last long.

Y/N broke the stare and looked down to the ground, realizing they haven't actually talked about their issues just yet, and particularly the main issue lingering in the air, their feelings towards each other.

Y/N wanted to come clean about her feelings, but after everything that happened, she is scared to get hurt again. That's why trust I so important to her, in some way, she trusted Jin, but he took advantage of that and harmed her in the worst way possible.

She wonders whether she can ever trust anyone like that again, if she can let anyone come close to her in an intimate way. But if there is one person who might be able to, it's Taehyung as he has been before, the only guy who truly stole her heart.

Taehyung wanted to come clean about his feelings too, he needs to tell Y/N he is in love with her, he can't lose her anymore, and this is his shot. She is the most important person to him, and she deserves to know that.

"You look beautiful tonight" Taehyung told Y/N, making her smile at his compliment, slightly blushing because of it.

"Thank you, you look handsome as well" she said looking down, getting shy around him.

Taehyung felt himself blushing at her remark and looking down as well. It was silent for a little while, both of them anxious to start the conversation they should be having right now. They both knew it needed to be done, but both were anxious of the outcome.
