Prince Adrian of Tavern?
What a joke!
He's no prince! He's an arrogant, stuck-up, no good, awful, selfish, cocky, loser of a man who had no respect for people!
Granted, I've only known him for two days.
But I know he's purposefully let Oliver on this journey knowing Oliver was going to drive me nuts! And he used his title as a prince to get a free room in an inn! I mean, how much is fifty coins to a prince? A PRINCE!
He's loaded with money! He could spare fifty!
Argh!
Oh and don't get me started on how he yelled at me when I broke that table. I will say, I was acting out of line and shouldn't have done that. But that rude man made a comment and I had enough!
But he looked at me and yelled at me as if it was my fault!
Mar, calm down, calm down.
I've been getting therapy for my anger and it's been toned down. But His Highness just gets my blood boiling!
Should I even refer to him as "His Highness" in my own head? No, what's the point? It's my mind, I can do whatever I want!
I wonder how Adrian had managed so far. He must get others so beyond upset with his attitude.
He acts like no prince I've ever met.
Princes were either full of themselves, thinking they were too good for the world. Other times they were dare-devils, always itching for adventure and fun. But Adrian? Oh, he's a sour-puss.
Always scowling. Always rolling his eyes. Always being a sarcastic witty person.
And I've only known him for two days!
Mar, it's okay- I just need to complete this quest, bring back the lost princess, and move up the ranks. I'll prove all of those assholes that I made it, that me, a bastard child, could achieve heights they could ever dream of.
Hm, no that seems a bit too selfish. I'm better than that.
I think so anyway...
Chilly wind grazed my cheeks, the night had fallen and it was cold.
Hm, maybe I should head back. Maybe Adrian had managed to piss someone else off.
I hope the innkeeper isn't mad that I broke his table...
The inn was just as lively as when I had arrived, the lighting blinding me as I walked into the building. My ears were quickly filled with chants and music, the smell of savory food wafting through the air.
I could feel my eardrums pounding in my head. For some reason, it had gotten louder.
There were still plenty of drunk men, tho they seemed to be focused on something else.
There was a crowd gathered near the bar, waitresses were running around trying to refill empty cups with booze. Loud laughter erupted just as there was a huge thud, followed by a couple of curses.
What is the world is going on?
"Mar! I was wondering when you'd be coming back!"
Oliver ran up to me, nervously pushing his glasses. His hands were held tightly to his satchel, beads of sweat rolled down his face.
"Uh, hey," I mumbled.
"It was getting kind of weird, just standing here waiting for Adrian to finish up," Oliver started to explain.
