Ch.4- Piecing The Rank Puzzle

He pushed me on the floor. He stared down at me. His look showed disgust. I hadn't gotten to the school yet but this guy... He continues to just stare at me. His purple eyes seemed strange. Has anyone ever had them before? I just came here because i heard the Red eyed Ultimate user was here. I was unaware that there was another high ranker among this place. Aura High School, A place with the most high rankers, was in front of me. I'm most likely not that high in the rankings. "Don't get near Kyran or his group. I saw what you did. Not right now but what you did in the future." I was bamboozled as to what this meant. I decided to listen.

Later that same day, i left the headmasters office. He gave me the paper of every high rank in the buildings of this school.

8. Kira [Level 5.9 Semi-Ultimate User]
7. Kay [Level 6.0 Laser Beam User]
6. Ethan [Level 6.5 Cosplay/Disguise User]

3. Jennifer [Level 7.9 Creativity User]
2. Juicy [Level 8.5 True Ultra User]
1. Kyran [Level 10 Ultimate User]

I'm a bit confused. Why is number nine like that? I'll find out later. Okay, to me, I see two Disguise users. I also see two different ultra's and ultimate's.

This is so strange. So does this mean that there are ability variations are the same but shared by others? I head down the halls, feeling cautious of everyone. I have to watch out or else i have to be in fights constantly. I hear two students at the end of the hallway, it seems like this pink haired girl was trying to spark a conversation, the other seemed...uninterested.

"Come on! You'll never know if you don't try it out yourself you know..! Come on, Please!" She said to him. He looked to the side, he clearly didn't want to, or didn't care enough to even listen.

"This desperate just to drag me to a place but looking at it...even that's boring." he said back to her.

"just do it! It isn't even that bad!"

"...How Boring." He said again. This guy clearly is bored of lots of things. If he finds everything boring, what'd be the point of having fun for him? Oh well, he must be a low ranker who gets bulli-

"But Kyrannnn, How can you be rank 1 and the ultimate user but not try this as a way to have funnn!" She whined.

My face grew pale. I didn't move for a second. That was Kyran? Imagine pissing him off! No, he didn't seem like the type to be angry. Before i could gather my thoughts, the girl continued.

"We already took over one invasion tower already!" She said.

"I understand that but i just find it really boring to try to even continue on. What's the point when you're already good at everything?" So this meant to me that this was the Ultimate User. The guy with the purple eyes told me not to approach him and his friends.

"I know, But i basically took it down on my own with mysel- I mean, a friend. Anyways, You didn't come along last time. What made the sudden change?"

the girl looked at him and just looked over his shoulder and pointed. "Oh hey look it's Jaelyn, Hey Jaelyn!"

The girl with brown hair and glasses smiled and waved, walking closer to greet her friend.

"Hey Audrey!" She saw a familiar face, turning to the red eyed boy. "Uh hello, Have we met before or seen each other?"

"Hm, Most likely yes. Hey" Kyran says with a blank expression.

She snaps her fingers and points upwards. "hmm, could it be we saw each other during secondary school, during the last year? i think you were much lively than now."

"You aren't wrong. But it is soon enough going to be time for First Period, makes sense why i'm tired. You seem lively and energetic though." He said.

"Well, I did drink some Coffee before coming! Oh! Want to be friends then?" She said extending her hand towards his.

Kyran looked at her hand for a second and took it. "Sure, Sounds good."

He looks like he just realized something because he looked up slowly, smiling in defeat. "Wait, We have 5 classes together...This is definitely just so you could talk to me."

"Oh! So you have realized! Good, Good!"

The girl with the pink hair was gone, ran to class a little ago.

Kyran scratches his head. "Hmm, So uh want to walk to Art class?" The girl nodded her head and they began chatting about introductions, I knew they were so i followed slowly, acting like i was minding my own business.

"So, you're hiding your real name for that reason? Wow. Here uh, I'll give you a name for me to call you then...How about...Bry? I heard you were called that at one point."

"...how did-" Kyran replied.

"I think i've heard it before plus i remember what your original name was anyways. Don't worry, I'll keep it all a secret. But, i will call you Bry though." She said to him.

Kyran sighs as he keeps walking to class. It appears to me that they won't make it on time. What is it with this guy? Oh and the girl too.

I saw Rank 1 meet a who know what ranker, But it must be from around his level if he's interacting so well.

I followed a bit more and started being noticed by Kyran. How does he know i'm here? Does he have a kind of Aura Sensory? I'm confused. I shouldn't be even thinking about this. Besides, why try to figure out who this user is without being caught. He's literally the Ultimate User and no way in hell that i'm pissing him off.

"So uhhh Jaelyn i think it was, What's your project on?"

"Mine's on Friendship! You?"

"Well mine is on how my ability works."

She stared at him and asks "wait whats your stats..?"

"What do you think?"

"Last i checked, you were level 6.8 arriving here, then you were 7.3... so now you are-? Oh i almost forgot you are a fire user, Ultra Fire to be exact." She said confidently.

He responded back to her "Now i'm the Level 10.0 Ultimate user."

She quickly turns to him while looking surprised. She was expecting at least 7.9 because that seemed to be the highest people were able to go as high of being.

"You have to be lying?!"

"No, I swear i'm not. Anyways what about you?"

"Me? I'm the same old Level 5.0, y'know?" She says to Kyran.

Kyran snickered "LOL"

"H-Hey! it isn't funny" she said complaining that he had this reaction.

Meanwhile...

Jennifer's POV-

I felt a pain in my stomach. I knew why too...

i asked Kyran when he just arrived how he could possibly get the skill known as Despair but then i realized...all i did to him. The awful hopelessness he felt afterwards... I had to go to him and find out if his Skill is still Despair... Right Now!
