Your POV
I groaned, shutting my alarm off, and slowly getting up out of bed. I picked up my phone and shot a good morning text to Monoma. I was still salty at him for taking videos of me being drunk, but I had no one else to talk to anymore.
It still bothered me how he let me sleep at his place, in his bed. That's kind of a weird thing to do for someone you, quote unquote, "hate."
Yes, he still denied the fact that we're becoming friends. Don't get me wrong, I want to deny it, but with all of the proof, I couldn't. I had tried reaching out, telling him what I thought, but he wouldn't listen. He simply called me his "underling."
I got ready for school and started walking. I put my earbuds in, listening to my favorite songs at full blast. I started humming the tunes out loud, unaware of the person walking alongside me. My earbuds were suddenly tugged out my ears and I gasped, whipping around to see who had pulled them out.
"Oh! Monoma! I didn't know you walked this way!" I said with a smile.
"I don't."
"Oh. Then... why are you here exactly?" I asked
"Well... I wanted to give you a solid answer instead of dodging questions and making excuses," he started out.
Oh God where is this going
"I'm slightly intimidated." I spoke out, staring at him blankly.
"Uhh yeah I see that now uhmm.. I don't know I'm just..... confused?? I hate you; you're a 1A scum, but yet I seem somewhat drawn to you. Not in a weird way, I'm just attracted to you as a person," Monoma forced out. I blinked, trying to fully register what had just come out of his mouth.
"Wait shit NOT LIKE THAT I SWEAR TO GOD ok I'm just gonna say it." He took a deep breath and stopped walking. I stopped with him and eyed him closely, trying to figure out what message he was trying to deliver.
"Ok. So. I'm accepting the fact that we're becoming friends. BuT-"
"OH MY GOD MONOMA HAS A FRIEND?? AND IT'S ME??? YES BESTIEEEE!!" I yelled out in a high pitched voice, jumping onto Monoma's back. To my surprise, he did indeed catch me, basically giving me a piggyback ride. He let out a loud sigh as I sang random gibberish words and did a small happy dance with my arms.
"Shut the hell up, you're still a bitch and I'm not going to treat you like you aren't one. And stop waving your arms around like that you'll fall; dumbass."
"AWEEE YOU CARE ABOUT MEEEE"
Monoma sighed once again, accepting defeat and continuing the walk to school. Of course, we were a few minutes late. He carefully let go of my legs, my body sliding off of his back and my feet returning to the ground.
"Listen. We gotta have some ground rules, alright?" I nodded, bouncing on the balls of my feet in excitement.
"First, we tell no one of this. Besides the whole neighborhood since you literally just announced it to everybody-"
"My bad heh.." I looked to the ground and scratched the back of my neck.
"Second, if a rumor spreads about anything containing both of our names in the same sentence, this friendship is over and I will not hesitate to shove my foot up your ass."
"Doesn't sound like a bad thing tbh,," I said, looking back to him with raised eyebrows and biting my lip.
"..No." I laughed and waved my hand in the air, dismissing the remark as a joke.
"And th-"
"WAIT!!" Monoma paused, raising his eyebrows and blinking at me, waiting for me to continue.
"Does this mean that.. You're accepting me as a part of 1B??" He went silent for a few minutes, thinking about his next decision. He sighed and brought his arms up, only to let them drop to his sides again.
"Fine. You won. You're apart of 1B. Congrats on being a fellow disappointment," he said so genuinely it could almost have been sarcastic. I mean, you never know with Monoma whether he's being serious or joking.
"YAYYY!!!" I wrapped my arms around his shoulders in a hug. He didn't return it, and gently pushed me away, making me pout slightly.
"Now for the third and final rule. This is the most important." I nodded to show I was paying attention.
"There will be absolutely no feelings of love between us. And if you say anything about falling for me, the friendship is done, and we'll go back to how we always were before you switched classes. Do I make myself clear?" The intensity of his voice assured that I knew he was being completely serious. I slowly nodded. "Words. I want to hear you say it."
"Hmph, fine. 'I solemnly swear I willn't falleth in thy loveth with thy Mono Mono.' Is that what you wanted?" I said sarcastically.
"Mono Mo- what-"
"I dunno. It just seemed natural," I said with a shrug.
"Don't call me that again.. ever...."
"Oh?~ Why not Mono Mono?~" He cringed and shook his head, walking towards the large school building. I laughed and caught up to him.
"And by the way, I didn't ask for some 300 BC shit when I asked for an agreement. Just an 'I promise I won't fall in love with you' works." I huffed at his remark, rolling my eyes.
"I promise I won't fall in love with you," I said as genuinely as I could. Monoma nodded dramatically.
"There you go. See, now that wasn't so hard?" His obvious sarcasm made me chuckle, but I said nothing.
Here's the thing; it was very hard to say. Because I didn't know what was going to happen with my emotions. I have no control over who I fall in love with. It's not like I want to willingly, but if it happens, it happens, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Emotions... Don't you dare fail me now...
