Third-person POV

On a sunny day with the wind blowing slowly, it's just so beautiful outside. The wind had a bit of a chill to it, but with the sun shining bright, it made for some perfect weather. Serena was woken up by the gentle breeze and the warm sunlight streaming through her window. She stretched out her arms in a lazy manner and sat on the bed for a moment before making her way over to the open window.

A smile immediately spread across her face as she took in the sight of the beautiful weather outside. These types of days were her absolute favorite – not too hot, not too cold, just right. It was the kind of day that made you want to spend all your time outside, soaking up the sunshine and feeling the wind in your hair. Serena couldn't help but feel grateful for such a picture-perfect day.

She glanced at her watch and noted that she still had some time before her usual routine, yet she decided to head to the bathroom. After briskly brushing her teeth, she made her way down to the kitchen to whip up a standard breakfast.

Amidst the sizzling sounds of cooking, she hollered for Mike, her brother, to rouse him from his slumber. "MIKE!!" she called out, followed by a louder, "MIKE!!" and a playful "WAKE UP LAZY BOI!!" His response echoed through the house, "I hear you, Sis."

Mentally acknowledging his acknowledgment, she finished preparing the meal and set it on the table. "I've set the breakfast out, so eat it before it gets cold," she informed him from outside his room before swiftly making her way to the bathroom. With the water cascading down, she washed her hair and torso meticulously, emerging from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her torso. Standing before the mirror, she gazed at her reflection, contemplating her true self.

The glistening of her white, smooth, and sensitive skin as water dripped from her wet curls created a mesmerizing sight. Her figure, with its great proportions and attractive lean physique, only added to her overall allure. Even with her slightly open pink lips, Serena couldn't help but feel self-conscious about her seemingly dull brown eyes.

Despite her brother Mike's insistence that they held untold depths of emotion, she remained unconvinced, preferring the expressiveness of her green contact lenses. It was as if her eyes, once full of dreams and vitality, had now been weighed down by the burden of guiding Mike towards a better path. As responsibilities mounted, her once star-like eyes now seemed as hardened as stone, a stark contrast to the vibrant spirit they once embodied.

As she stood there contemplating why she was the one who had to endure such hardships and hide from her past, a chilling thought crossed her mind. "Is he still behind me, or has he forgotten about it?" Her mind, haunted and wounded by her past, immediately responded with a harsh reality check. "Do you think that after committing a crime he won't come for you? Don't you remember what you've done? Whether he's behind you or not, if he ever catches sight of you again, he won't hesitate to cage you.

The thought sent a shiver down her spine, making her realize the danger she could be in if he ever found her. She quickly pushed the unsettling thought aside and let out a heavy sigh, trying to focus on the task at hand. She grabbed some clothes from her closet, walking around in just her bra and underpants as she tried to push away the fear that lingered in her mind.

She looked stunning, like a Victoria's Secret model. Fragile yet drop-dead gorgeous, her innocent yet seductive small face easily caught people's attention. Dressed in a black hoodie, leggings, and white shoes, she stood before the dressing table, intending to do her makeup but decided to grab breakfast first. Spotting Mike munching away, she smiled; he was the reason she faced the day with gratitude. "I know I'm handsome, but it's rude to point it out, especially to your brother," he quipped.

"What a narcissistic person you are, little brother," she teased, knowing he disliked the title. Giggling, she noticed his smile. "Why are you grinning?" she asked. "Can't I?" he replied. "You can, but it's kinda creepy without a reason," she retorted. Rising, he walked over, enveloping her in a warm hug, surprising her. "You look beautiful," he complimented, sounding childlike. "Thank you, Mike, but you sound like a kid," she chuckled.

It was a rare sight, his tender side emerging, contrasting his usual mature demeanor akin to an elder brother. "Ain't I?" he playfully responded. "Yup, you are, but you've bulked up and grown taller," she observed. Releasing her, he smiled, a gesture reserved solely for Serena. "Let's eat," he suggested, guiding her to a chair beside him. Over breakfast, they chatted peacefully. Post-meal, Mike insisted Serena get ready while he tackled the dishes.

Serena went to her room and looked at the mirror, blowing out a breath before continuing to put makeup on her face and body. With her originally white skin and clear face, the makeup gave her a slightly tan complexion, with freckles lightly dusting her features. She added fake glasses and contact lenses, completely transforming her appearance.

After finishing up, she headed downstairs to bid goodbye to Mike, who smiled and waved in return. Unbeknownst to Serena, Mike seldom attended school nowadays, opting to spend his days out and about. Just as he was about to leave the house, the doorbell rang, causing him to tense up. Peeking through the door hole, he saw visitors that put him on edge, causing him to instinctively reach for a nearby vase.

Mike hastily regained his composure as he placed the vase back and swung open the door to find Anderson and Blake standing on his doorstep.

"What are you two doing here? If you're here for Serena, I hate to break it to you, but she's not here," Mike explained.

Anderson interjected, "Well, what if I told you that I actually want to talk to you, can we have a chat?"

Mike inquired, "What's up, Anderson?" Blake interrupted annoyingly, "Hey, we're your elders, show some respect-" Mike cut him off, uninterested, "Then how should I refer to you, Derek? Uncle?"

Anderson, sensing the tension, steered the conversation back on track, "Guys, let's focus. We need to discuss something important with you, Mike, it's about Serena's boyfriend."

Mike hesitated for a moment before eventually giving in, "Fine, come in," inviting them to continue the discussion inside.
