From her locker, Emily could hear Quinn arguing with Finn as they stood by his locker.
"We are in line to be the most popular kids in the school over the next couple years." Quinn told her boyfriend firmly, raging with anger after having him confirm that he was, in fact, in the glee club.
"Yeah, I know." Finn sighed.
"Prom king and queen. Homecoming court royalty..." Quinn continued. "I am not giving up those shiny crowns just so you can express yourself."
"Look, you're making too big a deal out of this." Finn argued.
Emily gave Quinn a side-eye from her place and the older girl rolled her eyes at her best friend before sighing deeply as she turned back to Finn with a very forced smile.
"Okay. Let's compromise." Quinn said. "If you quit the club, I'll let you touch my breast."
"Under the shirt?" Finn asked, surprised.
"Over the bra." Quinn clarified quickly and Emily snorted a quiet laugh.
Finn paused for a moment then, conflicted, but Emily raised an eyebrow when he shook his head.
"No. No, I can't." He said, causing Quinn to scoff, clearly annoyed. "I want to do Glee. I'm really happy when I'm performing."
"People think you're gay now, Finn." She practically growled, as Emily closed her locker and leaned back against it, just waiting for Quinn to be done with that so she could walk up to her and go to the Lima Bean together. "And you know what that makes me? Your big gay beard."
"Look. I-I gotta go to class. Okay?" Finn said. "Just relax. Everything's gonna work out."
And with that, he closed his locker to leave. Sighing annoyed still, Quinn then turned to Rachel Berry who had been listening to the whole conversation, much like Emily had.
"Eavesdrop much?" Quinn spat at her, before walking up to the girl with a fire burning in her eyes. "Time for some girl talk, man hands. You can dance with him. You can sing with him. But you will never have him."
"I understand why you'd be threatened. Finn and I have made a connection." Rachel said, as Quinn scoffed. "But I'm an honorable person. I don't need to steal your man. I have plenty of suitors of my own. Every day Glee's status is going up, and yours is going down. Deal with it."
And just as Rachel turned around to leave, two of the football guys threw slushies in her face. Quinn snickered then as Rachel gasped and Emily couldn't help but giggle too, as she walked toward Quinn and wrapped her arm around hers.
"Yeah, Dopey. Your status is definitely up." She said, as she walked away from the girl with Quinn as the two of them laughed. "So, gay-beard... Can we go grab a latte now before I'm forced to sit through another one of those incredibly boring Celibacy meetings?"
"Sure." Quinn rolled her eyes at her best friend's usual dry honesty. "You're paying, though."
"Me? How come?"
"Well, I'm sad about being a beard, Emmy... I deserve a treat." Quinn pouted her lips and batted her bright, beautiful green eyes far too used to getting everything her way whenever she did so. Emily rolled her eyes then, but laughed.
"I'm sure you are." She said, causing Quinn to let out an amused giggle. "Fine, moustache. Let's go grab ourselves a latte. My treat."
"And a brownie?" Quinn asked hopefully as Emily scoffed.
"Don't push your luck, Fabray."

Emily was sat in between Quinn and Santana at a long table in a classroom, filing her nails, not the least interested in anything happening around her. Even without looking up, however, she could practically feel Quinn's harsh stare on Rachel Berry as the girl sat alone on the opposite side, staring back at her, slightly terrified of the group of Cheerios in front of her.
