"As we head into Sectionals, I wanna get some feedback." Mr. Schuester told his students as he sat in front of them in the middle of the choir room. "Like, what kind of stuff you guys would like to be doing. Is there anything... Any music in particular... That you guys wanna do?"
"Can we maybe try something a little more black?" Mercedes asked, as Kurt nodded.
"I agree." He said. "We do an awful lot of show tunes."
"It's Glee Club, not Crunk Club." Rachel scoffed at the duo as Emily gasped.
"Way to be racist, Berry." She called out quietly from her seat as Santana snorted beside her and Mercedes turned to Rachel angrily.
"Don't make me take you to the carpet." She threatened.
"Fantastic!" Mr. Schue spoke up before a proper fight could ensue. "Thank you, Mercedes, Kurt. Duly noted. Anything else?"
Emily raised an eyebrow then, at the way Mr. Schuester seemed to be, clearly, very ready to ignore that suggestion and she exchanged a quick glance with Quinn, who was already looking at her, that same knowing expression painted on her face.
"I can pop and lock." Mike shrugged, smiling when everyone cheered a bit, all too aware of Mike Chang's great dance moves. That was, until Mr. Schuester killed their buzz, again.
"Not really what we're goin' for, Mike..." He said, as Emily rolled her eyes. "But... Noted, noted, yes."

For the first time in a while, Emily didn't feel bad in the slightest about reporting to coach Sylvester all about their last meeting. After all, considering the way Mr. Schuester had managed to not only shun Mercedes' and Mike's ideas despite the clear excitement of everyone else involved, but also give Rachel and Finn yet another solo, Emily couldn't deny she was pretty annoyed with the teacher.
So when coach Sylvester asked from her and Quinn for weakness in the group so she could use them to pit the kids against one another, Emily didn't waste time in speaking up.
"The minority students don't feel like they're being heard." She said, as coach Sylvester turned to look at Quinn. And when the older girl nodded with a smirk, the coach nodded, satisfied.
"Ah. Chink in the armor, huh? Good job, Amelia."
"Emily." The two girls corrected, far too used already to coach Sylvester calling Emily everything but her actual name.
"Close enough." She shrugged. "Anyway, I am going to create an environment that is so toxic no one will want to be a part of that club. Like the time I sold my house to a nice, young couple and I salted the earth in the backyard so that nothing living could grow there for a hundred years. You know why I did that? Because they tried to get me to pay their closing costs."

The day after their meeting, during the next glee club meeting, Mr. Schuester and coach Sylvester stood in the middle of the room, flipping a coin for whatever reason.
"Ladies' choice." Mr. Schuester said, as coach Sylvester smirked.
"Heads." She said, as Mr. Schuester flipped the coin.
"Heads." He grimaced.
"Awesome. All right." Coach Sylvester said, as she turned back to the kids. "Following students have been selected for a special elite Glee Club called Sue's Kids."
"Hold on." Mr. Schuester protested then. "We agreed not to split up the group."
"Aw, come on, Will." Coach Sylvester pouted dramatically. "Give me a chance to do things Sue Sylvester's way. Maybe with my proven leadership abilities I can help this pathetic group of mouth breathers place at Sectionals."
