Mr. Schuester had apparently invited one of their rival glee clubs for Sectionals to perform for them on their stage, so, there they were, the New Directions in the audience as the girls from Jane Addams stood on the stage.
"Okay, guys, so first of all I want to welcome Ms. Hitchens and the Jane Addams glee club." Mr. Schuester said. "We're all very happy to have you guys here. So, um, we're going to let you guys start us off. Let's see what you got."
Their coach nodded at Mr. Schuester, then, unamused, waiting for the teacher to walk out of the stage before turning to the band.
"Hit it."
As soon as Bootylicious started to play and the girls started their performance, Emily raised an eyebrow, impressed and slightly overwhelmed. As she looked around the audience and toward the rest of the member of the glee club, she noticed they all had a similar expression. They clapped, though, when they were done, all staying silent when the girls from the Jane Addams Academy left exchanging worried glances when they realized what pretty much they all already knew — they sucked.

"All right, guys. I did some thinking last night. I think I found our new number for Sectionals." Mr. Schuester said the next day in their glee meeting. "We're going to do the title song from Hair. Now, this show started a revolution."
"Wait, did they have mohawks back then?" Puck asked then, clearly very worried about his own hairstyle. "Like in the 20's or whatever?"
"Yeah, Mr. Shue, if we're going to do a song about hair, shouldn't we have more hair?" Finn asked.
"One step ahead of you." Mr. Schuester said, as he started to throw wigs at the boys. "Here are your wigs."
Very excitedly, Mike put the wig in his head, poking Emily's arm as she sat beside him, causing her to turn and look at him and snort a laugh as he threw his new long hair over his shoulder from one side to another.
"Mr. Schuester?" Rachel called as she stood up to talk lowly to him about how she thought they didn't need to do what the Jane Addams girls had done to win.
Unable to hear them, though, Emily turned back to Mike, watching as him and Matt played around headbanging to get the hair on their wigs to fly around. Eventually, though, Mike's wig flew out of his head, hitting Emily straight on the face. She gasped in surprise, as Mike turned to her quickly, reaching to get back his wig from her only to have the girl hit him lightly with the wig.
"Sorry?" Mike offered her a sheepish smile as Matt laughed loudly beside his best friend.
"You're lucky you're cute." She rolled her eyes as Mike smirked, putting his wig back on.
"You think I'm cute?"
"Not with that wig on, no." Emily smirked at Mike as he leaned his face closer to hers. "You look like a sad, unsuccessful 60's rock-lover dad."
Mike laughed then, rolling his eyes as he sat back straight in his chair.
"I guess that's the sweetest thing you've ever said to me, so I'll take it." He shrugged, causing Emily to giggle.
"Shut up."

Emily stood by her locker, fixing her hair in the small mirror she had hung in there. From the reflection there, she saw Quinn approaching her from behind, so grabbing the books she needed for the next period, she closed the locker and stood there, leaning against it with a smile as Quinn leaned in the lockers beside hers.
"What?" She asked, already too familiar with Quinn's expressions to know she was thinking hard about something.
Sighing, Quinn gave the book she had been holding to Emily as the girl frowned when she saw the title there.
