The week had gone by and it was now Friday. They had Potions today and both Sage and Draco dreaded going to class and sitting next to each other, however Sage learned to endure Malfoy's ridiculous behavior.
She realized she'd have to sit next to the rude boy all year so she might as well learn to tolerate him.
Malfoy on the other hand, always complained when he'd encounter her. The rude boy always greeted her with a rude comment and would scoff every time she spoke. Throughout the class, he'd let out a sigh to show how annoyed he'd become with her and the class overall.
Sage would sometimes confront him but she's now starting to realize, no matter how many times or what she says to him, he simply would not listen to her, however she did get a kick in reprimanding him.
As they were in class, Malfoy did his daily routine of walking into class, taking a seat next to Sage and greeting her rudely. Followed with letting out sighs throughout the class.
They were only twenty minutes into class when Draco had sighed rather louder than normal when Sage decided to finally say something.
"Look Malfoy, I truly do understand that you are not fond of me, but will you please just shut up! I've had enough of your rude remarks and hearing you huff and puff every five minutes. It has become utterly annoying and you're so bloody insolent" Sage snapped at the boy rather loudly, enough to make the other students turn their heads to stare at the two of them.
"We have quite an audience" was all Malfoy said.
The other students still had their eyes on the two when Draco snapped at them, "Well what are you all bloody looking at? Nothing to see here" now giving the students a death glare.
Once the students had turned away, Malfoy decided to reply to what Sage had said to him just a minute ago.
"I wouldn't say I wasn't fond of you, I'd say I hate you, Arden. You're nothing but a filthy blood traitor. You think I am so utterly annoying? Have you seen yourself? You are always raising your hand, being a "pick me" girl. It is so fucking annoying. You're constantly fidgeting in your seat which, I cannot stress this enough, makes me want to tie you down to your bloody chair so you will stop moving. Even having to hear you breathe just annoys me. So you, Arden are the true annoying one." Draco argued and let out a deep breath as he finally finished.
Sage was rather shocked by what he had said to her. She hadn't realized she was a "pick me" girl or that she fidgeted so much. She didn't say anything back to him, instead she just kept quiet and decided to pay attention in class.
With that, Draco slouched in his chair crossing his arms on his chest.
Once class was over, Draco immediately got up from his seat when Professor Slughorn had yelled out both Draco and Sage's names.
"Okay class dismissed however, Draco Malfoy and Sage Arden, stay." Professor Slughorn said sternly whilst still saying goodbye to the other students.
"Ugh great" Draco sighed while taking a seat back into his chair.
"Oh shut it Malfoy" Sage added while still in her chair, shaking her leg rather worried as to why he asked them to stay.
"If we get into any sort of trouble, it's on you Arden" Draco scowled and looked at the worried girl noticing how worked up she was. "Why so tense Arden?" Draco asked finishing with a soft chuckle.
Before Sage could respond to the boy, Professor Slughorn interrupted, "I couldn't help but notice the two of you bickering over my teaching today. Care to enlighten me on what was so much more important for you to talk amongst yourselves?" He asked, leaning on his desk, arms crossed, waiting for one of themto answer.
"Professor, I can assure you I would not want to talk to this blood traitor purposefully. She is just very annoying so I simply told her that." Draco answered trying to justify his behavior which actually did nothing for him.
"Mr. Malfoy, do you realize how ridiculous that sounded?" Professor Slughorn asked, adding a chuckle.
"Look Professor Slughorn, since Malfoy won't tell you everything here it is. He and I do not get along whatsoever. He is not fond of me at all, so to express it, he makes quite ill mannered comments, and huffs and puffs every other minute, and so in response I decided to inform him on his behavior which led to us bickering over how we don't like each other. Lastly, I am truly sorry for interrupting your class." Sage spoke letting out a breath of relief after her rather quick voiced excuse.
"Very well then, in order for the two of you to learn how to get along, I will be assigning you both detention three days a week for the next month where you will learn to become fond of each other or at least tolerable. Is that understood?" Slughorn demanded the students, raising his eyebrows waiting for a response.
"But Professor" Draco pleaded with a very shocked face before Sage interrupted him.
"Yes Professor Slughorn, understood" Sage said lowly, upset at the fact that she had already gotten detention this early on in the year. Not only that, but with Draco Malfoy.
"Now I will allow you two, to come to terms in which days you will serve detention." Slughorn added, while reaching onto his desk to grab a parchment and quill.
"Well" Draco said to Sage with an annoyed tone and face to go with it.
"Well, I could do any day really. You may pick the days if you wish" Sage murmured.
"Great so Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays shall do" Draco said looking at both Professor Slughorn and Sage.
"Very well, now since you both have potions last on Tuesdays, I will expect you to serve detention right after class. As for Mondays and Wednesdays, right after dinner. I shall see you two on Monday" Slughorn spoke.
"Got it" Malfoy said.
"Okay" Sage added.
With that, they were both dismissed and left the classroom.
