Year 6

It was now year 6 and Sage matured way more over the summer. She didn't think it was possible for her to change much more, but she learned to be more positive and imperturbable, she grew into her own person, having her own personality.

She was much more vivacious and wasn't easily upset. She learned to control her feelings and stay composed. It was something that made her more sophisticated.

Sage had boarded the train towards Hogwarts. She quickly made her way to an empty compartment.

A few minutes after she boarded, she heard Malfoy's voice. He too was finding a compartment to sit at.

As Draco passed by her compartment, he unintentionally laid his eyes on her. In response, Sage had looked at him as well.

"What are you looking at blood traitor?" Malfoy spat while walking away.

What was the point of saying that if he was going to walk away anyway? Sage thought to herself.

Suddenly a knock emerged from the glass on the compartment door, bringing Sage out of her thoughts, "May I join" Hermione asked while giving her a smile.

"Of course" Sage replied, standing up to greet Hermione with a hug. "It's great to see you" Sage added.

"You too" Hermione smiled, "so what did Malfoy want?" She asked curiously.

"Oh nothing, he looked at me and said 'What are you looking at blood traitor' even though he was the one staring at me" Sage said rather annoyed with Malfoy.

By the time the train arrived at Hogwarts, the sorting ceremony would begin and so would dinner.

The sorting ceremony was rather a happy time, Sage loved welcoming new students to Gryffindor.

With her being excited, she had a smile on her face the whole time, up until she turned her head and locked eyes with Malfoy.

Malfoy shot her a scowl, making her immediately turn away.

She decided to brush it off, and enjoy her dinner while using this time to catch up with her friends.

The next day, Sage had potions with Professor Slughorn.

She was quite excited for Potions, up until Professor Slughorn decided it would be a brilliant idea to pair a Slytherin with a Gryffindor.

With her luck, she had been paired with Malfoy, meaning they were now partners for the term and had to sit next to each other.

"Wonderful, just wonderful" Sage said under her breath while Draco took a seat next to her.

"Oh you're complaining? I have to sit next to your filthy blood traitor self all term. Clearly i'm the miserable one." Draco spat back.

"Do you not know how vile you truly are Malfoy? Or are you just so fixated on belittling people?" Sage asked rolling her eyes.

Draco scoffed, "yeah whatever" was all he said back.

"Look, we have to learn to get along if we're going to sit next to each other." Sage exclaimed.

"Why should I get along with a blood traitor like you?" Draco questioned her.

"Look Malfoy, i'm really tired of the way you treat people. Who gives a damn about their blood status, they're as much of a human as you are. Sure your family comes from a higher social class. So what? You're no different than everyone here, we all use magic here. Ever thought of being in the muggle world? I bet you'd be the one feeling like the outcast. Not being able to use magic, no idea how to live in the muggle world. Muggles, and half bloods aren't any less of a witch or wizard Malfoy." Sage lectured Malfoy, and finally letting out a deep breath after telling him off.

"Look Arden, I could care less about the Muggle world, and I could care less about living there. I wouldn't dare go close to the Muggle world. I would never fraternize with them." Malfoy snapped back, scowling at Sage as he finished speaking.

"Whatever Malfoy, one day you'll realize how cruel you really are and you'll regret the way you treated others." Sage added, turning away from Malfoy to face forward.

Draco scoffed once more and turned to face forward as well.

Sage couldn't help but be relieved that class was over. She had dreaded sitting next to Malfoy, listening to his rude remarks. However, she learned to endure it by now.

Her next class was Charms with Professor Flitwick, she was rather early to class. Sage was one of the few students who hadn't used their passing time to hang around the corridors, she always went to class immediately.

After a few minutes, the classroom began to fill with students. Once everyone had taken a seat, class started.

Sage realized that no one chose to sit next to her. It didn't bother her though. She liked being alone.

As Professor Flitwick began his lecture, the classroom door swung open rather loudly, making the persons entrance known. Sage looked back to find it being Malfoy.

Of course he had to make a dramatic entrance, she thought to herself.

"Mr. Malfoy, you are late" Professor Flitwick blurted.

"Sorry Professor, had to use the loo." Draco said chuckling.

"Very well then, take a seat next to Miss Arden." Professor Flitwick said while pointing to the seat next to Sage.

"Oh um no thank you, I'd rather sit somewhere else." Draco spat in an annoyed tone.

"There is no other option Mr. Malfoy, now take a seat." Professor Flitwick demanded.

With that, Draco took a seat next to Sage.

"Great another class sitting next to you, as if Potions wasn't enough." Draco muttered, while slouching in his chair, arms crossed against his chest, with pure annoyance.

"Yeah yeah Malfoy." Sage retorted, "If you weren't late, you wouldn't have had to sit next to me." Sage then added, sounding just as annoyed as Malfoy was.

"Whatever Arden, it's not my fault you're lame and the only empty seat was next to you. However, i'm not surprised." Malfoy argued, rolling his eyes at her.

"I would rather sit alone than next to you" Sage groaned.

"Likewise" said Malfoy.

"Good" Sage gushed.

"Good" he mimicked.
