"Seriously Sage, how could you manage to get yourself detention? Not only that, but with Draco Malfoy" Hermione asked rather worked up when she found out Sage had earned detention due to the little incident in Potions class.
"Mione, I know. It obviously wasn't my intention. He just would not shut up and next thing I know we're arguing and then Professor Slughorn decided it would be in our best interest to serve detention in order for us to get along." Sage exclaimed while she plopped herself onto her bed.
"I understand but seriously bickering with Malfoy is just useless. No matter what you do or say to the boy, he will always be just as vile and arrogant." Hermione added while taking her shoes off and plopping herself onto her bed as well.
Sage had spent the next few hours thinking about how she landed detention, doing her homework, thinking more about detention, and reading.
Once it was time for dinner, she stopped reading and made her way towards the Great Hall with Hermione.
As she walked in, she noticed a few students looking her way and whispering amongst themselves. She wondered if they had been talking about her.
Surely news of Sage Arden receiving detention with Draco Malfoy had been a shock so of course the students would gossip about it.
Malfoy was quite popular at Hogwarts, it's no surprise the other students would find out. The two students also absolutely hated each other which made the new even more shocking.
As she sat down, she was bombarded with questions by Harry Potter and Ron Weasley.
"So you really have detention with Malfoy?" Ron asked with a shocked tone.
"Bloody hell Sage how did this happen?" Harry also asked immediately after Ron.
"Look guys, I really don't want to talk about it. I'm sorry" Sage sympathetically said to the boys while grabbing her plate to fix her food.
"Yeah I get it. I'm sorry you're going to have to deal with his vile arse." Harry added while also fixing his food.

Sage had spaced out whilst her friends were in a concentrated conversation about Merlin knows what, leading her eyes to subconsciously look up from her plate to the Slytherin table in front of her.Just a few seconds later, his grey eyes had done the same. The eye contact between the two immediately brought Sage out of her trance and Malfoy quickly shot her a scowl.
Draco and Sage both thought the same exact thing to themselves.
Oh bloody hell, eye contact. That's quite uncomfortable.
Once dinner was over, Sage couldn't be more relieved. She wanted to escape from everyone and be alone in her dorm.
As she made her way out of the Great Hall she bumped into a boy. "Oh I'm sorry I was rather in a rush, I hadn't realized where I was going" she spoke fast with an apologetic face but once she had looked up from her feet, she realized who she had bumped into. "Oh Malfoy" Sage added, now sounding annoyed.
"Well you should watch where you're going. You're like a bull in a china shop. Clumsy." Draco spat looking irritated as always.
"Shove off Malfoy" Sage retorted trying to keep their interaction minimum.
"Yeah yeah Arden. Just stay out of my way." The boy spat again while taking a step away from her. "And try to be less clumsy" he scoffed as he walked away from their brief altercation.

As the weekend went by, Sage dreaded every hour of it as it reached closer to Monday. She wasn't looking forward to classes resuming because of Malfoy, but she couldn't escape it.She tried to enjoy her weekend every way possible but her thoughts of detention would quickly ruin it. She had never had detention before and the reason behind her detention made her blood boil. Of all the ways and reasons she could receive detention, hers was so she and the bloody vile wizard can learn to get along.
Sage and her friends visited Hogsmeade on Sunday evening to retrieve some Butterbeer hoping it will bring some spirit into Sage, which it did but her happiness had only lasted for at least twenty minutes before she noticed the group of Slytherins walking into The Three Broomsticks.
"Well looky here Malfoy, it's your little detention buddy and her ridiculous friends" said one of Dracos minions, and the other laughed.
Sage and her friends ignored his comment when Malfoy decided to chime in. "Oh shove off Crabbe"
One of Draco's friends, Blaise had simply scoffed and walked away. He never joined in on the three of them when picking on the other students. Blaise was rather nice and minded his business when it came to it. He was also usually never around when the three boys antagonized others.
Blaise Zabini was nice considering he was a slytherin and one of Draco's friends. Blaise was the type of friend that could soften Draco if he really tried. They had a good friendship and it was possible that he could change the boy, but he never did.
