Chapter 5: Another drama filled day

P.O.V Brooke:
As I walked towards the front gate I could see Conner leaning against a wall on his phone. When he finally looked up he gave me a small smile and I smiled back on instinct.

"How was your Break?" I asked stopping in front of him.

"Pretty Great except this girl told me she would hang out with me and I didn't hear on word from her the entire time." Conner said giving me a disappointed look.

"Sorry its just my brother got home from New York and I pretty much spent the whole time with him." I confessed giving a weak smile afterwards.

"You never told me you had a brother?" Conner questioned as we began to walk into the school.

"Oh..well I have a brother his name is Ryan and he is a year older than me.. so the same age as you." The bell rang and we changed our direction to our Algebra classroom. As we continued to walk I felt someone grab me arm

"Brooke wait." I heard Matthews voice from behind me, and my whole body froze while my heart dropped to the pit of my stomach.

"What do you want." I turned around to see my ex boyfriend staring me down.

"I just want to talk to you please just hear me out." He begged letting o of my arm.

"Fine." I looked at Conner and he just stood there awkwardly not knowing whether to go or not.

"Brooke i'm so sorry please what I did was horrible but I was having a rough time and was drunk and I didn't know what I was doing. Please give me a second chance."Matthew stepped closer to me and took my hands. Is it wrong that I want to say yes after what he did to me. After he broke my heart.

"Matthew... I'm sorry I cant. Not after how you broke my heart. If you were going through such a hard time you should have talked to me about it, not sleep with one of my friends. Goodbye and please don't talk to me anymore." I pulled away from him and walked to my class with Conner trying my best to hold back the tears building in my eyes.

"It's okay to cry." Conner whispered not looking at me.

"No it isn't because he doesn't deserve my tears. " I whispered back.

We walked the rest of the way in silence. I sat in my normal seat and Conner took a seat next to me.
Aubrey who was late as usual sat on the other side of me when she got to class. Mrs.Cross was never good at teaching and just gave us packets to work on pretty much letting us talk all period.

Conner Started talking about his break while Aubrey re-did her makeup. I pretended to listen while working on the packet but really my mind was in another world.

"Brooke!" Aubrey squealed holding her phone in front of my face. I looked up and saw it was Matthew's Instagram page.

"Why are you showing me this?" I asked not understanding why in the world Aubrey would bring up such a sore topic.

"Look at his bio." I did as she said and began to read his stupid bio.

There where heats and kissy faces surrounding her name and my heart felt like it was breaking into pieces. Why did I feel like this I'm the one who broke up with him. Why did he have to cheat on me with that whore...

"Oh that's cool I guess.. honestly I don't really care if they are dating or not."

Lie why did I just lie to Aubrey, it's obvious I care.

"That's good because you shouldn't care what that stupid jerk does. I just thought you should know now rather than see them walking around together." I looked back down at my packet hoping that I wouldn't start to cry in front of everyone.

The rest of the day went by pretty fast and it was finally lunch. After I was done dressing back into my outfit since I just had P.E
I walked to were all my friends were.

Aubrey was sitting on a bench next to Jade and Nicki. While Conner was leaning against the wall behind the bench. Ryan walked up just after me with his group of friends.

"Aye Brooke got any money, your stingy ass brother wouldn't give me any" Dylan asked walking up behind Ryan.

"No sorry Dylan." I lied putting my purse next to Aubrey's. everyone started to talk to each other and our normal everyday group was acting as it usually did. Until Matthew, Grace, And Adeline walked up. I looked at the new couple and stayed quiet pretending not to care.

Even with everything that happened Matthew was still friends with some of the guys that hung around me so I couldn't really say anything. It was awkward and No one really said anything, Ryan looked like he was going to explode but he didn't say anything knowing I didn't want him to.

Conner walked over and put his arm around me like nothing was happening. "Hey Brooke wanna come buy lunch with me.''he asked innocently.

"Ya lets go." I said turning away. Conner kept his arm around me and we were about to walk away when someone said

" I can't believe that ugly bitch already got a new boyfriend." Conner stopped dead in his tracks.

"Who said that." Conner's voice was ice cold and his eyes had no emotion.

"I did" Matthew Answered.

In the blink of an eye Conner had turned around and punched Matthew right in the face.

"She isn't my girlfriend..Be lucky she isn't because if she was you would be in a worse state than you already are you pathetic Prick." everyone gasped and then began to laugh.

Ryan patted Conner on the back and said "Hell I'm glad I'm not the only one looking out for my lil sis." Ryan kept laughing and Conner grabbed my hand pulling me away from the scene.

As we walked I kept looking at him trying to understand why he had just done that. "Why did you hit him Conner." He didn't answer he just kept moving not even looking at me.

It was obvious he was still mad about what Matthew said and I just couldn't wrap around my head why he would get so worked up.

"Because I didn't like the way he was talking about you." Conner looked down at me with a giant smile on his face. For some reason I felt butterflies in my stomach and felt a blush forming on my face.

"Thank you." I looked down at my feet and I felt Conner put his arm around me pulling me close to him. I like this feeling but what is it ... What does this feel like.
