I felt my heart drop when Vaz fell in the fire. Should I feel happy that I am in the finales? I swallow anxiously. I'm crying of despair as I think of the awful and horrific screams Vaz formed. When the screams stopped, the Host smiled and turned to us three. The three finalists. I breath in anxiously and breath out petrified.
"So, hello finalists! Are you ready to play the last game?" He said enthusiastic. "I-" Waffle started, whispering under his breath. We are all shaking from trauma. I hear Ghost's tears drop and my own tears are burning down my cheek. The host smirked. "You have no time to mourn, the finales are starting immediately." He lifts his chin and the TV screen flashes to the original logo.
"The "assignment" is easy to explain. Find out why you guys are here, find out the secret. If one person finds it out, they can press this button-" The host grabs a button from under his jacket and places it on the wooden table. "If they guess it correctly, they win and the others will be executed. If they press the button, and guess it wrongly they get executed. If one person gets it, they win. You have to get it right, or you can't leave. There are enough hints to figure it out. Goodluck."
It stays silent for a few seconds before the Host taps on his chin.
"OH, I forgot," he began speaking with a smirk. "Your friends, except Vaz, are there too! Give them a big hug, or not, if you want to survive."
He waves us goodbye and the iron shoes click open. We stand there. I'm feeling mixed emotions, but the strongest of them all is determination. I'm getting out of this place.
I was the first one to move. I was maybe scared and terrified, but just standing there in shock wouldn't happen anyone.
I figured out a lot, that night I connected a lot of clues. From others flashbacks, or from mine or from the diaries. I missed only one thing.
What was the accident, and who was the person that caused it?
I walked out of the game room, and I froze as I saw that the death room door was opened. I saw at least three hunters standing there, all with a recognizable body. They scanned the room with their white light. I put my hands before my mouth and ran towards the dorms, closing the door behind me. I hoped no one saw me. I looked at the chalk board Vaz gave me, with our notes on it.
What I figured out, was a lot. More than Vaz did. My own flashbacks gave a lot of information.
We ten weren't just random strangers, because we were in the same class. If you grabbed the class photo in Yoda's drawer, you could see us ten in the photo. Which means this game has something to do with the school. The articles in the newspaper room, was a news article about a discord high. That was our school, you can find a banner in Bey's room with Discord High. The black diary is the one that did it. I tapped my chin with the chalk.
I remember the thing that was written on the chalk board at the first day, "the killer is among the ten," I widen my eyes. What if, the one that caused the accident is one of us, and that means the killer. The host couldn't have predicted that Bagle would kill Photon, and the tone of the Host was livid when Bagle did that.
I need to find more clues, I decide. I stand up and quickly check if any hunters are out here. I tip toe out of the dorms to the plaza. I sprint towards a crate and slide into it. I quickly look where the hunters are. I see three hunters standing there. Bey and Bagle are visible, the other one is not. I quickly breath and crawl one crate further, trying to get to the locker room, which Vaz told you can unlock every locker with a random code. But I was planning to just bust it open. I ran towards the hallway, dodging streaks of lights and slided into the locker room. Quickly hiding in a locker, that I had opened the day before, it had nothing in it but it didn't matter.
After a few seconds I began busting open the lockers, most of them not having any of it in it. I found a lighter in one of them, the same one as the black diary actually. "How did Vaz miss that?" I whispered to myself. I busted open a few more lockers before I heard a voice.
"Hi Ghost," I heard Bey say. I froze. I quickly hid into a locker eavesdropping on the conversation. "B-Bey? How, you are supposed to be-" I heard Ghost stutter confused. I hear Bey laugh, with a hint of robotic stuff in it. "Dead? Yeah, I'm not." Ghost widens her eyes. "How?!" she says laughing. "Acting," Bey told her. But I wasn't fooled, I heard the robotic whirring and everything. The host had made a copy of Bey to fool Ghost. "I found an escape Ghost," Bey said to Ghost. I heard Ghost gasp. "Really? Why are you here then?" Bey laughed. "I didn't want to leave with you," I slid out of the locker and looked around the corner. I saw them both standing there. "Come," Bey said smiling. She held out her hand to Ghost, and Ghost took it. They both smiled. "Let's go," and they walked away, hands intertwined.
I felt bad for Ghost, but she was going to die anyway I thought bitter. Stay determined and focused Birb, concentrate.
I bust open more lockers with not really useful stuff. I then came across a different locker, a more, other one. I looked better at it and saw it was the principal's locker? I stared at it confused for a second before deciding.
I bust open a locker and grab the newspaper that's laying in there. It's not blurred out. I quickly read through it, feeling tears coming up in my eye corners. I then realised it. I know what happened to Discord High. I know why we ten have been chosen. I quickly breath in and out in the locker I'm hiding at.
It's me versus Waffle. If this is right, I win. I get to be free. I get to remember everything and be happy again. I stand up and crawl out of the locker. I check for hunters, don't see anyone and sprint towards the game room. I feel lights turning red behind me, but I am faster than them. I run towards the button and press it.
The hunters deactivate and the lights in the game room turn on. A loud alarm sounds.
"Well Birb," the speaker says. "Let us see your theory,"
