Luckiest girl

Hearing knocks and giggles at the door, Cordelia opened the front door to see two little girls, one with fiery red hair and the other with dark brown hair, standing in front of her.

"Hi little ones, where did you come from? Where are your parents?" Cordelia crouched down to their level and gently held their hands in hers.

The girls smiled innocently and turned to point towards the direction behind them.

Slowly adjusting to the blinding sunlight, Cordelia squinted her eyes and saw two women with big smiles on their faces walking towards her.

"Oh my God, Charlotte! Mina! It's been so long!" A wide grin appeared on Cordelia's face as she practically skipped over to give them both a hug.

"And are those lovely girls-"

"Yepp, they are our girls" Charlotte can't help but to giggle at the sight of how surprised and happy Cordelia is to see them again.

"Girls why don't you come over here" Venable called out to them and gestured a come here signal.

The girls ran over to Venable with their hands linked together and grabbed onto the fabric of their mother's purple floral dress. Both their cheeks blushed a little as they looked up at Cordelia with their beautiful brown eyes and gave her the most angelic smiles.

"Sweeties, this is Cordelia, the headmistress of this academy and our new neighbor. Will you do me a favor and introduce yourselves?" Charlotte bent over and whispered sweetly into their little ears.

"Err m-my name is Lavandula Robertson-Venable, I am six years old!" The brunette introduces herself and held up six fingers proudly.

"M-my name is Vi-Violetta Wobershon-Wenable, I yam four!" The red head followed her sister's example, raising five fingers and giggled.

"Aww aren't you both the sweetest. Would you like to explore the academy?" Cordelia blushed a little and pointed towards the white, majestic building behind her. Her heart was completely captured by these two adorable little beings.

"Can we mommy? Can weeee?" Their eyes lit up instantly as they became more restless than they already were. Both of them were giving their parents the puppy eyes, waiting for the okay.

"Okay darlings, but remember to hold each other's hand and stay close to momma okay? Please behave, alright?" Charlotte gave a light pinch on their cheeks and leaned over to give her wife a quick peck before sending them off.

Not wanting to stay under the sun for any longer, the two women decide to head to the greenhouse to carry on with the catching up session.

"So, what brings you back here? I mean, after all, the reason why you had to move out six years ago is because you got the job offer from Kineros Robotics. And also, if I heard it right just now, you said new neighbor?" The blonde bombarded the brunette with questions as soon as they both took a seat on a bench.

"Well actually, the company had recently decided to expand their business by opening a daughter company here, in New Orleans. As soon as Venny and I heard the news, we immediately volunteered to take over the project" Charlotte chuckled before continuing.

"And since Venny is one of the most trustworthy and reliable employees. Without hesitation, our bosses handed the project to her entirely with full authority, which she then took the opportunity to bring me on board with her. And so, here we are."

"Hmm but it still doesn't explain why of all of New Orleans, you decide to move next to the academy though?" Cordelia tilted her head and asks skeptically.

"Haha well you got me there, fine. It's my daughters. I think they might need a little guidance with their-" Charlotte chuckled while raising both her hands and wiggled her fingers.

"You daughters? Are you saying-are they? Oh my God!" Cordelia's face lit up with excitement, covering her mouth with her hands.

"And of course, being a witch myself, I figured it would be better for them to receive guidance from the best" Charlotte grinned, stressing the word 'best' as she looked into the older woman's eyes to let her know that she means it.

But before Cordelia could reply they were interrupted by the echoing footsteps that's approaching them.

"MOMMYYY!" the two girls came running into the arms of their mother.

"Did my girls behave? Did you? Did you?" Charlotte looked down at her angels in her arms and asked.

"Oh no they did not alright" Venable replied playfully.

"Momma you lyinggg, no fairrr" The girls answered defensively and pouted, pretending to be angry.

"Looks like I'll have to punish you both then" Charlotte says wickedly and started tickling them everywhere.

The girls laughed so hard and their laughter was so contagious that soon, everyone in the room was laughing. It was one of those moments that Charlotte will forever cherish.

Looking around the room to see the faces of her loved ones, Charlotte smiled to herself, knowing that she is the luckiest girl alive.
