STRANGE ABILITIES
“ALEX, ALEXIS, LEXI,” Peter’s voice called softly, trying to get my attention. My eyes opened, we were still out in the heat, although the sun had set.
“How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that.” I groaned at Peter.
Now we were by a lake, a strange bluish green colour that glistened in the sunlight. On the other side of the water you could see the silhouette of the city, stunning large houses built over the water.
“Oh good, you’re awake, finally.” Simon let out a breath he seemed to be holding in.
“What happened?”
“You fell unconscious and right after you your dragon collapsed to the ground. You’re both really stubborn. You could have killed yourself and your dragon, don’t do it again.” Marcus lectured me in brief sentences.
He always thinks we’re such weaklings. I heard Kivera’s smooth voice that I hadn’t heard in a while. I turned to see her crouched beside me so tall and magnificent.
Yes, I guess he does. I thought, smiling at Kivera who I knew understood.
“Well, apparently, your old man here knows our secret.” Oscar smiled with a small laugh.
“I’m not as old as you may think.” Marcus sounded grumpy but you could sense a bit of amusement in his voice.
“It’s late, as usual, I’m sorry, I’ve put us all behind.” I looked at all their faces, worried about me. “We’ll continue tomorrow morning.” I got up a little unsteady and nearly tripped but Peter quickly caught me.
“You’re crazy to think this is all your fault.” Peter let go of me as I regained my balance.
“But we are now behind.” I moved toward Midnight to get the canteen from her saddle.
“You were dehydrated. That’s what Marcus says.” Peter told me, with a concerned expression. I turned to go toward the lake so I could refill the water canteen. I needed to make sure this same thing wouldn’t happen again.
“He’s probably right.” I paused, “where are the other dragons? Your dragon?” I enquired for I was curious to see the other dragons.
“Oh, they’re not so far now, they will come from over there soon.” he pointed in what I presumed to be the westerly direction. Sure enough three black figures came from behind the clouds, looking the size of birds. But they got closer and closer and soon revealed themselves as mighty giant dragons. One of the three came up to greet Peter in an odd manner. The dragon was a flaming crimson colour with yellow eyes that almost shone like the sun, he had a well-shaped head that had clear cheek bones, and he was very well shaped. The dragon had spikes all allong his back, legs, tail and neck, but had two horns on either side of his head that stuck out the most. He seemed rather muscular, but not as big and muscular as the light blue and white dragon that stood tall next to it. This dragon had a round head that looked smooth, he was horn-less but had spikes along his back. His eyes were a deep shade of blue that shone like an icy surface. The last dragon stood away from the others, investigating the area, aware of everything; this one looked smaller, but absolutely beautiful, the dragons features made it look more like a female dragon, she had a small and gentle head with many different beige coloured horns coming from her head and chin. She was a beautiful moss green colour that contrasted against the sandy terrain she stood in. Her eyes were a magnificent orange colour as they curiously looked around.
