BOYS IN THE FOREST

"HANNAH." I started.

She turned to look at me confused.

"I have to leave." I said boldly.

"If I go to tell the king about the bandits and I then go to get work we can live better off." I began to whisper in case someone overheard.

Hannah had the familiar expression across her face that showed me her shock.

"You're leaving before me.

I never thought it could come to this, but it's a good idea...I guess," that pause was filled with uncertainty, she came over to hug me.

It was difficult since my quiver was strapped on my back.

"Alright you go.

But you'll come back.

Won't you?"

"Yes." I wasn't actually sure.

I was just following Kivera's instructions, a dragon, I was trusting a dragon, "I must leave, now.

Act normal; say you don't know what happened to me.

Follow your daily routine and don't get caught."

I told my sister as if I were older.

"I will," a long pause as her grip tightened around me, "goodbye then." She was crying but was trying not to show it.

She let me go and stared into my face.

I smiled warmly, to try and cheer her up; then I left through the back door.

I had to leave with the clothes I had.

My bow, quiver and horse came too, I brought my cloak so I couldn't be recognised.

I got on my Friesian horse, Midnight.

Leaving Shadow, Hannah's Friesian, alone in the empty old barn.

We had one saddle shared between two horses and a pairs of reins each, I had made them myself.

With my bow on the ready I rode through the forest as fast as I could.

After I was already far out I heard bandits screaming; the bandit I had talked to really did help.

He was so inspired by me that he did as I said when I asked him to do something amazing for me.
