Chapter 4: HIDE AND KISS

Zainabs POV

It is Monday, the day I have been dreading since the weekend. I woke up by 7:00 which is almost late for assembly and my school was very strict with punctuality, thanking God that I bathed late I put on my deodorants and school uniform and ran downstairs. My daddy looked up and burst out in laughter, asking me why I am looking like I saw a ghost. "Good morning Papa" I said "Oh my daughter why do you look like this, thank God you are downstairs I was beginning to think you were not ready to go to school today" I just chuckled, "Daddy, I am in SS3 I dont want to be tagged unserious on my second week into the school." He just laughed walking out the door and waiting for me so he can lock the door.

After my dad dropped me at school, I walked into the building dreading to see one person but unfortunately he was the first person I spotted the moment I walked into the building, when I saw him I decked because I did not want him to see me but that was stupid because Tunde saw me and shouted my name "Zainab, baby girl why are you hiding there come on lets go to class" I just groaned and stood up. I walked up to him trying to avoid the person that is obviously making my heart beat this fast, "Hi, Zainab" Chukwuka said with a smirk which made me remember the possible reason he is smirking at me I just shook my head and made a move to walk to the assembly all otherwise know as the chapel, my school does not do assembly like any normal school being a Catholic school after mass the Reverend father also known as the Principal decided to give us an announcement "Hello, students this announcement is especially for the SS3 students as you all know your Senior WAEC (for my readers not Nigeria, WAEC stands for West African Examination Council, it is written by the senior students to graduate from secondary school) and in anticipation for that we will start our extra lesson, this lesson is compulsory the payment is just 5,000 naira. Take care and God bless you, you are dismissed." Wow 5,000 naira that is a lot I will have to tell my parents the moment they get back from the office, we walked out of the hall into our classes I sat at my seat in front of Chukwuka and his friends waiting for our first period to start. The doors opened and our class teacher came in the class to mark class register. After she did that, she told us that our maths teacher wont be in class due to some issues. When she stepped out, I decided to go to the library as I stepped out of the class to go to the library, I felt a presence and turned, I saw Chukwuka looking at me. "Hi, what do you want?" I asked confused. "I want to talk to you it is important" I considered it well there is nothing to lose and we still need to talk about Friday "Okay lets talk" I said walking towards the field. We sat under the shade and he started talking "I wanted to ask why you ran out on Friday, did I do something wrong?" He asked. "No" I said "So why did you run out like that?" "well I was shocked and it was my first kiss" I looked down embarrassed "Oh no need to be ashamed I won't have done that if I had known" He said in a low voice I smiled "Well since that is out of the way lets play Twenty questions" He said. "Okay" I smiled, "so what is your full name and how old are you?" "Well my name is Obinna Maxwell Chukwuka and I am 17 this year I know I look older so I drive and you?" "well my name is Umaru Chloe Zainab, well I am 16 I will be 17 May 3rd but I drive because I look 18 years old and I dont drive long distance though." "So how many girlfriends have you had?" I asked "wow jumping right into the hard ones, well I have had 1 serious girlfriend but I am not a play boy please oh, what about you?" "Well I have never been in a relationship it is almost time for the next class come one lets go" "Okay but can I kiss you?" before I could reply his lips smashed mine. I was caught unaware, I had nothing to say. The day went by in a blur like I did not know what was happening after school, my mum came to pick me up and I told her what the principal said she said she would give me the money tomorrow. At night I thought of it what would happen tomorrow, well today I ate lunch with them will tomorrow be different?

What would happen tomorrow? Would Chukwuka ignore her? Would they pretend like nothing happened?
