Chapter 1: New School, New Enemies

Zainabs POV

Today is my first day at Augustine College it is a prestigious high school and very expensive, and my parents cannot afford it with their salary but hey I am on a scholarship from my uncle in the states he has been my sponsor since I was in grade 4 and he realised I was a very brilliant child, I am sorry I forgot to tell you who I am my name is Umaru Zainab Chloe, and for a first day in school I woke up pretty late

"Zainab, get downstairs now breakfast is ready and wake your brother from there I am not going to be late because of you two" my mum screamed from the parlour

"Mom, we are ready we will be there soon" I told her hanging my school bag and running over to her we get enough just fine and at least we dont starve in the very least. My parents were at the table eating when I got to the dining area. "ina kwana papa" I greeted my father "Yaya kake" he said, "we will be back late, I made dinner heat it up and put your brother to bed" she said walking out of the door we got into the car and drove towards the Island, we got to the school my mother brought out a thousand naira and gave us the money, "use it for snacks, the school will give you lunch and drop you at home you can use it for late lunch bye love you both have a good first day" "Bye, Parents" we screamed back at them.

We both walked into the school and walked towards the principle office to get our schedule and books, the principle was a nice woman named Mrs. Oyinye she showed us both to our classes. Stepping into my class I met the first subject of the day Mathematics yaayy just my luck you see my sarcasm I dont like mathematics, yes, I am an intelligent student but everyone has their kryptonite and mine is mathematics. For some reason I dont like the teachers of the subject and it is always reciprocated. I took my seat close to the wall being one of the vacant seats remaining. Just then a boy came into the class behaving like he owns the class "Nice of you to join us today Mr. Obinna" my teacher said looking seemingly angry but did not make any effort to punish him maybe I am in heaven or dreaming. "Sorry sir there was a hold up at Lekki roundabout" he sounded nonchalant and moved into the class, he was coming my way, or so I thought he passed me and occupied a sit in the middle of two guys "O boy why you come late na you no say this woman no like when person enter her class after am" the boy on his left stated, he smiled unbothered and resorted guy "my papa commot house early I decide say make I chill since nobody to pursue me go school" I tried to concentrate on the teacher but they were making a lot of noise in what I suppose was meant to be a whisper. I turned and stated my discomfort to them an action I regretted too soon. "Please you guys are disturbing me I can barely hear what the teacher is saying" only to be answered with a loud laughter like I was cracking a joke which made me confused but the hot guy replied anyways "who the hell do you think you are telling me I am making noise" he stated. I faced the board not wanting a scene on my first day and during the first subject, but he was not giving up any sooner "For this, butting into my matter you just made an enemy and I will make your stay in this school hell, my name is Obinna Chukwuka Maxwell and this is a promise." I looked at him confused, rolled my eyes and faced front trying to look unfazed but goddamit my first day and I made an enemy already, but a hot and sexy one damn Zainab shut up and try getting over this day without dying.

What do you think will happen? Would this enmity last? or is he bluffing trying to get her to notice him?
