Chapter 6: IMAX, I SPY

Zainabs POV

Today is Friday, a day to my outing or date with Chukwuka was tomorrow after school I went to the mall with Amanda and Sharon to find an outfit to go outfit to wear to my date. Yes, I checked with my parents and my mum was so pleased that she gave me money to go outing yeah, my parents are cool like that. After dinner my dad decided we should have family game night both I and my brother let me introduce him to you my brothers name is Umaru Oghenetega Samuel yeah that is confusing but both my parents are not both from the north my Mum is from Delta my brothers other name is Musa and my other name is Kesiana, yeah I have four names. After game night and cleaning the parlour, I went to my room to sleep. When I got to my room a notification looking at my phone it was message from Chukwuka, I replied him, we have been chatting since he collected my number on Wednesday. He told me we are going to IMAX to see a movie that he will pick me which is a good thing because my dad also wants to meet him. I fell asleep while chatting with Chukwuka.

Today is Saturday so first thing I do is chores then we say the rosary then my mom cooks breakfast and then goes to the market to buy ingredient for soup, but fortunately mom bought the ingredients yesterday and I helped her to prepare it so the only thing is just to cook the soup. It was twelve fifteen and I was waiting for Chukwuka to come and take me out. The doorbell rang, my dad went to open the door and Chukwuka was standing outside with a rose. "Good Afternoon sir my name is Chukwuka I am Zainab's classmate and friend and I am here to take out my dad just looked at him up and down oh come in son, Zainab has told me all about you" Chukwuka came into the house. I tried to drag him outside but my dad stopped us "So, kids have fun but dont do anything we wouldnt want" I groaned "Papa you are embarrassing me" my dad just laughed "no I am making sure I am not going to be a grand father at my young age" I groaned and dragged Chukwuka out we got to the car and the driver opened the door for us. IMAX is not too far from our house but there was traffic and thank God the movie we wanted to see does not start until two pm. I was bored and I think Chukwuka was also he turned to me and said "lets play I spy" I nodded "Okay but how?" he started "I spy with my little eye something Purple" I smiled "The top I am wearing" He nodded "I spy with my little eye something black" "My phone case" he shouted in triumph I laughed "Guy chill not a biggie" we continued playing I spy until we reached Imax just intime for our movie I went to the snack stand and bought popcorn, soda and chocolate cookies while he bought the ticket. He bought a ticket for Mulan I had always wanted to see it. We went into the cinema luckily there were not a lot of people here so we had the good seats, the movie started and during the duration of the movie we had little conversations but where mostly interested in the movie after the movie we walked around IMAX and he offered to take me to Chicken Republic for lunch and I was hungry so I accepted of course. When we arrived, we went to the counter to buy what we want, after we ordered we sat down and had a conversation. "So, Zainab how do you feel about school?" I smiled "The school is nice and I am happy I have made new friends so I am not a loner but there is this Bola girl that always tells me to stay away from her man do you know her?" He scoffed "Yeah we had a thing but I am not interested in her and I have told her severally but she seems not to understand that fact" "Oh I would make sure to run as far from her has possible whenever I see her" I joked but he seemed not to take it has one "Why? Both the guys and I are here to protect you after all we are kinda a thing" I smiled at kinda a thing a guy who knows what he wants nice. From then the conversation carried on to different things like carrier paths and choices of universities.

After lunch he dropped me at my house, and pecked me goodbye. I walked into my house and saw my parents smiling at me of course they were looking at me through the window "How was your date baby girl?" my dad asked smiling "It is not a date just an outing" my brother scoffed "righttttttt" to show his disbelieve. "I am going to change and do my assignment I will come down and make dinner with mum" well today went well lets see how we will be on Monday. I laid down and closed my eyes

Well that went well right? Will things get better or will things be awkward? Would Chukwuka ask her out?
