"Indeed! He rushed back to her side shamelessly and from what I hear, his family has taken over the Chaturvedi Mansion. Poor Vrinda! Deprived of her parents and her memories, and exploited by the one she selflessly loved! Such greed and an unquenchable lust for money seems to run in their family!" exclaimed another woman, shaking her head in disappointment as a sneer marred her features.
Vrinda did not dare to turn around and look into the eyes of the man who was subjected to the inhuman taunts. He had stoically stilled behind her and except his racing but staggered breaths, she was unable to deduce anything from his demeanor. Her exuberant smile was long replaced by a desolate frown.
Rupa's mother had rushed to the women spewing hate to stop them and prevent the impending ruckus due to their insensitive and distasteful statements.
"I cannot believe that you invited that man to Rupa dear's wedding! Such desperate and disgraceful people should be kept out of auspicious ceremonies like weddings! You were close to her parents, right? How can you invite the man who ruined them and instigated her to against their wishes?" the vile woman demanded, her lips set in a thin line, making no attempt to hide her disgust.
Vivaan took in a deep breath, preparing himself for the war he had decided to fight. He was aware that the chance of happy ending was bleak but he has had enough.
"What happened to this concern for her, your friend's daughter, when she was struggling for two years to escape the containment in her own home, Supriya Mausi? What were you doing then? What happened to this goodwill when she was enduring the torture in the next door and you did not even bother to check on her?" lashed out Vivaan, furiously, much to Vrinda's surprise.
Supriya's mouth was effectively shut by the questions he had raised. She glared at him helplessly and turned to her friend, hoping that she would support her but it was of no avail. She uncomfortably gulped the lump which had formed in her throat and averted her eyes from him in embarrassment.
"It is true that we are staying at the Chaturvedi Mansion but we never let the thought of ownership enter our minds. Because the only thing important to us, the one thing that mattered was Vrinda. The concern and care for her which you had cremated along with her parents has returned after almost three years because you found someone to blame. Wow!" remarked Vivaan, huffing in indignation and disappointment.
"We were waiting for her to recuperate completely and now that she has, we will move out. But let this be known - I have loved Vrinda from a time I cannot even remember. Years ago, I refuted that claim to erase the blemish on my mother. But now, I do not care any more if you tag my love as selfishness, greed, lust or any other colorful adjectives that you may have in your minds, because none of that matters. The only thing that will ever matter to me is what Vrinda thinks about my love and that's for her to decide and for me to strive and prove the sincerity and authenticity of my love," he declared ruefully, turning his apologetic and regretful gaze as ardor swirled in his eyes for her.
Just search in every action of his, every word of his, sometimes like an undertone of concern, sometimes like a melancholic flicker of guilty agony, and sometimes for the world to see, you will realize that you are always his first priority.
As Vijay's assuring words turned into regretful yet heartwarming reality, Vrinda could feel her worst fears disappearing into the thin air. He had declared and reiterated that she had always been the first priority of his life, fulfilling the earnest desire of her broken and insolent heart.
"If Vivaan and his family did not return, I would not be standing in front of you today. If not for his relentless, sempiternal and unwavering love and support, I would not have been the woman you had known in the past either," she began, breaking her pregnant silence as his words fanned the almost burnt out flame of hope that she had safeguarded in the deepest recesses of her heart.
"Undeniably, this life is a gift from my parents but just as flowers would wither away, as all-freezing coldness would take over in the absence of sunlight, Vrinda would not have been Vrinda if not for the essence of life that Vivaan filled in my life. There is no doubt that a lot could have happened differently and if given a chance to rewrite my past, there is a lot I would like to change but Vivaan, being one of the most beautiful parts of it, would never be one of them," she explained, locking her reverential gaze with his doubtful one.
The hushed whispers of the crowd and the frenzy discussions had faded from vision as she felt overwhelmed by the assurance his actions and words had unintentionally and unwittingly given her, erasing any hint of the complaint which her resolute mind had against him.

Vivaan had indulged himself in packing his belongings to shift out of the Chaturvedi Mansion. Although Vrinda's heartfelt words had convinced the world, his heart had chosen to capture the part where tagged him to be part of her past. He wondered if that was an underhanded hint for him to take that he had lost the opportune chance to be a part of her future.
"Vrinda asked me to give you this," exclaimed Daksh, monotonously and stoically, and his expressions did nothing to betray his inner emotions.
Vivaan took the folded piece of paper from his brother's hand and was surprised when his brother walked out on him. He opened the letter and before his brain could comprehend the contents of the letter, he found himself gently caress the familiar cursive handwriting as innumerable memories, receiving her flirty and quick notes through their friends, resurfaced in his tempestuous mind.
Shaking his head as he sighed deeply in disappointment and exhaustion, he began to read the contents of the letter.
"Jahan Pehli Baar Mile The Hum,
Jis Jagah Se Sang Chale The Hum,
Nadiya Ke Kinaare,
Aaj Usse Amva Ke Taale Aana,
Jab Deep Jale Aana,
Jab Shaam Dhaale Aana."
His form began to tremble and a smile had stretched itself upon his lips. The proposition for a rendezvous had reignited the hope that he had doused mere hours ago and something told him that it was going to stay lit forever.
