Chapter 7

I slowly started to open it. There was a single red rose attached to an envelope. The rose was dark red in color unlike the normal red roses. It had a blood red colour. I picked up the rose and handed it to Nate, who seemed fascinated by the color too. I took the envelope which was addressed to me. I opened it to reveal a note written with almost unidentifiable handwriting. It read-

Dear Sarah,

Beware, preciosa. He gave you the company back but you won't get away so easily. I already know your schedule. You have a few days to live before I find you. You will be dressed in red when I get you. Just like the rose.

Yours lovingly,

Find out if you can ; )

"What the fuck?" I shouted in frustration, not realising I had just sworn but that was the least of my concerns. I handed the note to Nate and starred in space.

"What!" he shouted, masking my expressions.

"Nothing's gonna happen. We'll increase the security or it may be a prank. Chill Sarah. We'll figure something out," Nate said, trying to comfort me.

"Easy for you to say. Your life is not at stake," I said in frustration.

"But that person will have to get through me first," he said, hugging me. I crumpled into his arms.

"You're right. I know who did this and it is his way of getting back at me," I told Nate.

"Who do you think it is?"

"I'll tell you later, after I am sure. Right now, I just want to sleep and not worry about this note," I said, going up to my room. I pulled on the comforter and sleep engulfed me almost immediately.

Next morning I woke up determined to stand up to him yet another time.

I intentionally wore a red dress, showing I wasn't scared of him. Inside I was terrified. What if something really happens to me? Just the thought of that note sent shivers through my spine.

Well I am not dumb enough to go all alone, so I told guards to look over me from 2-3 cars without uniform.

I drove myself to his office and barged into the building with a crowd following me to stop me.

I was fast enough to close the elevator's door before anyone stopped me. He had his office on the topmost floor. As soon as I got out I found him with the other douche who was sitting on my office chair the other day. What was his name again? Whatever, I don't care. I saw his expression change the moment I entered. I went to his table and banged my hand on it with the note below.

"You! I need to talk to you!"I almost shouted.

"Sure, princess." he said stiffening up.

"You know it's the best opportunity now. Do the deed now! I know your intentions really well. And look" I said turning around "I'm wearing red. Isn't it a coincidence? I look hot in red right? Dancing 3 minutes with you did change my thoughts about you, but you proved me wrong!"

"What are you talking about? We cannot do it here, there are people around." he said staring at me.

What was he talking about? Oh now I realised how vulgar every sentence I just spoke was.

"Don't act like a sweet innocent baby. You wanna kill me? Do that right here! I'm not scared!" I said, throwing the note on his face.

"What!?" his expression was really unpredictable.

He quickly grabbed the note from the ground and read it. I could clearly see his jaw clench and note in his hand crumple.

"I did not write it!" He said through clenched teeth. Something about his expression made me believe he didn't write it.

"Then who would that be? It's related to buying my company!" Now I was more scared than before that I didn't even know who this person was.

"Run tests on it. Find out who is behind all of this." He said to Jerry who was watching our drama. Whoever he was. The other one left with the note and he turned to me.

"Now why would you think I wanted to kill you?" He said, a little softer than before.

"B-because I thought y-you w-wanted my company." I said stuttering while looking down.

Again he grabbed my chin forcing me to look at him. A feeling of deja-vu hit me. He was staring at me like professor McGonagall staring at Dursley.

"I would never in this lifetime hurt you or let you get hurt. You understand that? Write it down somewhere if you want to. And never look away from me again. If anything like this happens again, don't hesitate to inform me alright." He ruffled my hair and left with his blazer. "I need to go. See you soon tigresa." He said while entering the elevator and giving me a billion dollar smile. He really had huge muscles. All I wondered was how his emotions changed colours like chameleons. I need to figure you out, mister and it's not gonna be easy.

Sorry for late update guys. We are busy in preparing for terminals. Anyways figure him out, huh? Not gonna be easy anyway ;)
