Bucky approached Ana one late morning, his shadow casted over the screen of her phone, open with texts with Peter.
"We never went to brunch."
Ana glanced up and to the left before sighing a small huh and replying, "we didn't. Where did you have in mind?"
Then like the clock rewinded weeks and weeks ago to Bucky and Natasha's first date (and Peter and Anastasia's kinda date), the father and daughter found themselves seated in booths at Ladybug's.
Except this time Fly Me To The Moon wasn't playing, and both sides of the table felt like they'd aged years in what was only 10 weeks ago.
"Is there a reason you called upon me for this brunch today?" Ana asked once their conversation dyed down. Her eyes focused on him as she sipped from her milkshake and picked at the plate of hash browns between them.
He shrugged, "I was thinking about something a week or two ago," he started to explain, only to be interrupted by Ana.
"Well that's a first."
Rolling his eyes, he continued, "I know you like Nat and our relationship but I still wanted to get your blessing," he trailed off and smiled as his daughter's eyes widened and mouth gasped.
"Yes! Oh my gosh you're going to propose, yes! Do it! When? Where? How? Do you have a ring? Are you doing a summer, fall or spring wedding? I think the fall would be really pretty but at the same time the chromatic shades and white would really make the red of her hair pop."
Sitting patiently for her to burn some of the newly acquired excitement and energy, finally her rambling slowed and he started to answer some of the questions.
"I just decided a week or two ago," he talked over Ana's objection to him waiting that long to tell her, "and I've looked at a couple rings but figured you and Wanda could help me pick it out. Same with planning. I haven't figured out the wedding details yet because she still has to say yes."
"She'll say yes," she assured. "I'll look at some rings tonight with Wanda and we'll sed you links to pick from. As for the way you do, I've got some ideas. It's got to be somewhere fun..."
The beat of 80's and 90's pop blared from the old speakers stationed in the corners of the roller rink.
Wanda and Isaac skated hand in hand. Wanda giggling as Isaac stumbled, and Isaac giggling as Wanda stumbled right as he did.
The giggles reminded Wanda of a week ago, cuddling on his apartment couch, talking and laughing about whatever movie and tv show, tossing microwave kettle corn at each other. She couldn't remember what was on tv, but she remembered the popcorn because that's what he tasted like.
Interrupting their current fit of laughter, Isaac leaned in to kiss the crown of Wanda's hair, asking softly against her skin, "be my girlfriend."
Turning so she wasn't as much laying on him, now slouching in a somewhat sitting position against him, Wanda looked up with a smile, "yeah," she paused and exhaled, "okay."
