Adrien stood in front of the prison once again, he didn't like how little time he got last time, and now that he had more time to think about what to say he just needed the guts to do it.

He took in a deep breath, pulling on the sleeve of his hoodie he walked in the building going to the administration desk. "Hello, I would like to talk with one of the inmates"

The lady at the front desk looked at him and immediately recognised him. He noticed it wasn't the same person as yesterday. "O-oh, yes, of course mr Agrest, uh.. who- who are you here to see"

'Great another fangirl' he smiled at her "Natalie Sancœur" she nodded her head.

"Yes of course, just give it a second" he walked over to the waiting area. He fiddled with his fingers as he sat down, he knew what he was going to say, it didn't stop him from feeling nervous.

Why was he doing this, why couldn't he just give it up, why couldn't he just go back to living his life, and let him forget about her.

Plagg flew out of his pocket looking up at his stressed out guardian. "Ya gotta clam down kid, ya know what you're gonna say, all you need is to chill"

Adrien looked at the kwami smiling, it was quiet rare when Plagg would care, so it felt really good when he did. He looked up hearing his name from the lady at the front desk once again.

"Mr Agrest, she is waiting for you" he stood up walking down the same pathway he walked yesterday, he could feel his breath getting deeper and deeper, he could tell that he was still anxious, he swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat before walking over to his seat.

Looking down as soon as he sat down not feeling like he could face her just yet, taking in a deep breath and muttering the phrase 'you can do this Adrien' over and over to himself, he looked up.

The woman behind the glass had her usual unfazed expression as he looked at her, that's what he thought anyways, not a few moments later her look relaxed, her unbothered lips turning into a slightly frown. They looked at each other for a moment.

Both of them not saying anything, they didn't know what to say, Adrien found himself looking directly in her eyes, and Natalie found herself doing the same.

Adrien had no idea why he was doing that, he didn't know what he was looking for. Was he just hoping to see that it wasn't really Natalie. This had happened so long ago, and so many other things had happened in between, that he found it harder to accept it.

He tried his best to find something that would tell him it wasn't her, that it wasnt the woman what was a mother figure to him once his own mother had disappeared. But he found nothing. The eyes he was looking into looked exactly like the Natalie who he considered family.

He broke the eye contact looking down once more. Ready to stand up and leave. He wasn't even fully sure why he had even come here. He felt a sharp pain in his side, he hissed in his mind, guessing Plagg had probably bitten him again.

He looked back up picking up the phone and bringing it to his ear. Natalie sighed doing the same. "Hello" it sounded colder than he intended it to, but there wasn't anything he could do about now is there.

"Hello Adrien" Natalie said back after a few seconds "to what do I owe two visits this week"  Adrien narrowed his eyes at her slightly, but found that no matter what he just couldn't hold a grudge against her all that long.

"can you still not tell me? Is it still complicated, if I ask you the same question as yesterday?" His voice was monotonous as he got straight to the point, he didn't seem to have any judgment in his voice.

"A-Adrien it still is, you don't-"

"If it's about knowing father is hawkmoth and that he has my mother's corpse in a basement I know about it" her eyes widened as he spoke, "I mean it not like he doesn't know I know, and if he doesn't at his point he can just ask Raz how I know, I'm sure he won't be shocked"

"How— how do you— how did you find out" she was baffled, stuttering on her words as she looked as Adriens expression never changed.

He just shrugged her off once more. He could feel the air getting denser than it already was, he didn't like it at all but he did everything he could not to show it. "So, is it still too complicated."

A look of shock and horror was planted on Natalies face. "You would think I would feel bad." Her voice was low, but Adrien could still hear, he raised an eyebrow at her. "You would think I would feel bad helping your father out. I mean, at first I did" she chucked but there was no humour in it.

"At first I felt terrible, I just shrugged it off because he seemed to have been getting better and seemed to be happier. That's all I wanted for him." She looked at the ground biting the inner of her Lowe r lip before looking back at Adrien straight in the eye. "He never told me what he was going to do, I didn't originally know about your mother, I only found out when it was to late"

Adrien didn't change his expression as the woman in front of him spoke. "Look I care about you Adrien, you were like a sont to me-"

He cut her off leaning slightly closer to the glass "No— no, you don't get to say that, you don't get to say you loved me or whatever. Natalie, you were a mother to me, you— you stuck by me when my birth mother disappeared, so you don't get the right to say you 'loves me as a son' you lost the right the moment I found out you were myura."

She looked at the pained expression that emerged on Adrien's face as he spoke. "I'm sorry" they both went back to looking at each other, both not saying anything just watching as the other looked at them. "But you're right" she started again after a minute or two of silence. "I had no right — whatsoever  to tell you I loved you, but I want you to know, even if it means nothing to you. I wasn't lying"

He sighed. "I think it's time I leave" Natalie gave him one last sad look before he stood up putting the phone back. He walked out of the prison not so sure how to feel, what was he going to do now. He had literally accomplished nothing by going to see her

But it felt like he had accomplished a lot by do that none simple action.
