Thanks to Saffrielle for her cooperation on writing this part.

On our way back to our common room, Charlie and I discussed the tournament.
"I dare you to enter (Y/N)" Charlie giggled slapping me on the back.

"Fine" I groan "what will you give me if I do it?"

"How's a chocolate frog sound?" She smiled. Later that night students aged 17 and over were allowed to volunteer themselves by placing their named into the goblet of fire.
Crowds stampeded into the Great Hall to either intently observe or participate by nominating themselves for the Tri-Wizard Tournament.
I patiently wait for the crowd to dissipate, Charlie playfully nuded my shoulder when Cedric entered the age circle, a slip of paper in his gentle, yet masculine hand.

"Remember I dared you. Get up there already!" Charlie squealed in anticipation as she lightly pushed me towards the goblet. For a brief moment I hesitated before entering the age circle. As I stepped up to the goblet, I felt my hand brush against somebody else. Fuck, Cedric I thought. As he exited the age circle he looked back and his grey eyes met mine, his cheeks a perfect shade of rose. I felt the blood rush up to my cheeks too, so I swiftly averted my gaze to the cold stone floor.

After my name was entered into the the blue flames, I scanned the room for Charlie I rush over to her, but I hear footsteps approaching. I pause in my tracks as Cedric greets me with an awkward "Hi".

With our classic best friend intuition, Charlie and I make eye contact and we mutually agree that she should give us some privacy.

"Um, I should go- uh- feed my owl, Misty. See you later (Y/N). Bye Cedric, I guess." Charlie exclaimed in a flustered gush.

Cedric and I began walking in a comfortable silence, before he breaks it.
"So, you decided to enter your name into the tournament?" He intrigued.

"Yes, Charlie dared me, actually." I replied.

"Wow, your friend is really something, huh?" He chuckled, "you don't really seem much like her." Cedric exclaimed with a grin, flashing his cute dimples.

Our conversation continued as we walked down the hall, before his friends interrupted because Cedric was late for Quidditch practice.

"I hope I'll see you later!" He yelled back as he disappeared with his friends.

I continued my way to the common room to catch up with Charlie. She greets me a contagious, excited smile.

"What?" I ask her innocently, but I have a inkling as to why she had that facial expression.

"What did you and Mr. Handsome talk about? I ship you already, gosh." Charlie blabbered on. She was intense, but impossible to hate.

"Mr. Handsome, huh? I can't say I don't disagree. We talked about the Tri-Wizard Tournament, which I'm certain he'll win." I instantly replied.

Charlie didn't reply, but her shocked expression said everything. I talked without thinking. Did I call Cedric handsome?

I suddenly hear a muffled, awkward laugh from a boy entering the room.

"Sorry to interrupt, ladies. I forgot my broomstick." Cedric chimed in.

Oh no. That explains Charlie's previous gawk. I covered my face in embarrassment, well aware my face was tomato-red from blushing. Cedric gives a small wink and continues his way to his dorm leaving the common room.

I grab Charlie's hand and we run to our dorm. What just happened?
