Summer
Crash.
Explosion.
Flames.
I screamed at the top of my lungs. I tried to move but it was as if my body was completely glued to the floor.
I sighed when I opened my eyes to find a concerned Bia looking at me.
"Are you okay? I mean I know you are not but I mean are you feeling better now that you are awake. Damn it, you get what I mean right?" She was rambling so I got out of bed and I shook her.
"Look at me Bia, I'm okay," I said trying my best to calm her down since it was practically my fault she was freaking out.
"Well you want to talk about it?" She asked softly.
"Not really," I tried my best to play it cool and shrug it off even though I was afraid my pounding heart would give me away.
"By the way when do you ever sleep?" I asked realising that everytime I have these nightmares I always find her awake.
"I have the worst case of insomnia," she said as if she had answered that question a million times before.
We spent the rest of the night talking about the most random of things. I think it was around 2a.m. when someone whispered at our door.
"Bia, we are about to go. Are you ready?"
"Ohh shoot!" She yelled while whispering.
The door opened and because we seating in the dark and the hallway was dark to make it all worse he wore completely black clothes so I couldn't see who it was.
The second person who came in was Zeke, he also wore an all black outfit.
"What is taking you two so long? You two better not be..." He stopped in mid sentence as his beautiful blue eyes fell on me. He smiled slightly, nodding his head.
"Maybe she should come with." He said in a hushed whisper as he looked at the guy who came in first, who just nodded in return.
"Well you better change newbie because I don't think you would want to show up in mickey mouse pyjammas."
Like any other Institution Edgewater had very strict rules and very high security yet somehow they still managed to throw bonfires and parties. Tonight was one of those nights when they decided to throw a strictly forbidden party. I decided to go with them because well why not? Besides it's not like I have anything to do except thinking which I've been doing a lot lately ever since I stopped ignoring Ms Grayson and actually started treating her like a decent human being.
I was dressed in black like the others and then we left. Walked down the stairs until we reached the first floor, from there it was easy to slip out from the back because somehow Zeke had the keys.
We walked through the garden towards the forest. Seems like a lot of forbidden things happen in this forest I thought to myself as I remembered last time I was here with Olen. I had a great time, it was actually what I needed. And to some extent I felt from like that day we had a mutual understanding.
As much as I don't really remember the way we went last time I was here with Olen I was sure we were not going to the same place. We walked for a while until we went through a deserted path, the kind you see in horror movies but I wasn't really scared or anything considering the places I've been to before I came here.
Then I started hearing music, not the really loud kind that you usually hear at normal teenage parties and I knew we we were almost there. At this point it was just me and Zeke, Bia and the guy from earlier,Fred, were probably somewhere doing whatever it is dating people do.
We continued to walk until we reached a really old house. Creepy. I mean who has their house in the middle of the woods, but I guess it really worked well for these parties because it was completely hidden from the rest of the world.
We walked in and I felt like I had walked into a different time, the house was looked really old. It was as if it was from the 70's or something.
"Should I get you something to drink?" Zeke asked.
"Absolutelyyyyyy," I said enthusiastically.
He left me and walked towards what I assumed was the kitchen.
Left alone to wander I walked in the direction of the backdoor. I walked out onto the grass loving the cool air on my face I walked further until the house was very far away. I sat down and my mind started to drift back to when I was here with Olen, seems to be doing that a lot. I've been thinking about him a lot. I can't help it. He's like a mystery I am trying to solve.
"What are you doing here," a voice said from behind me. I instantly turned and I saw a pair of green eyes that I knew all too well.
"Getting some air." I said in a duhh tone.
He sat next to me.
"You're not a a very social person I'm assuming."
"Not really, I just prefer my own company to most people's."
"That's exactly the same thing," He said.
"Come to think of it, I was always the social girl. Was the most popular girl in my school, dated the most popular guy in school. Went to a lot of upper class social events, everyone dreamed of being me. I had countless friends and had parties a lot of parties where everyone in school wanted to be invited."
"But somehow that changed, I started hating being around people. I hated the pity that filled their eyes when they looked at me. I hated the the "are you okay" they asked me everytime they looked at me.
I hated their sorry attempts at trying to make me feel better, I hated everything about humans. I even hated myself for I blamed myself for everything I was going through. So I closed myself from the rest of the world. Did anything I wanted, whenever I wanted until I had completely lost myself.""Can I point how cliché that sounds, it's your typical rich girl drama." He said seriously.
Then I was out laughing. See what he does? Someone would've probably tried to comfort me but he doesn't do that he probably knows how annoying it is.
"Come with me," he stood and extended his hand for me to hold on to . He held it and started to walk off in the direction of the forest.
I couldn't help it I smiled.
