Summer
I stood there in the garden feeling a little out of place. Olen seemed to be wrapped in his own little world. It was almost as if he forgot he was here. He had barely said a word in the last hour and I was bored out of my mind. Just then a I had a great idea. I giggled as I practically ran to grab the hose pipe.
"Now where is that tap?" I whispered as I ran to open it.
I walked slowly to where Olen kneeled removing weeds from the plants, trying my best to block the hose.
Then I got to him and just let the water pour all over him. He jumped up and turned around just to have more water pour all over his face, hair and over all over his body.
I laughed so hard I literally fell on my butt but when I looked at him he looked at me with a scowl which would've affected me if I wasn't laughing so hard.
He stomped of basically cussing me out.
"Can't you handle a joke?' I said through laugher.
"Is he seriously angry? Wow. Some people have issues."I said walking towards the flower garden. I kneeled down to smell the roses and the most unexpected thing happened.
"Which idiot turned on the fucking sprinklers?" I screamed trying to find my way.
But I heard laughter and I knew who it was. I could've been mad at him and murdered him on the spot but his laughter was like that of an angel. I found myself smiling like an idiot and he gave me a puzzled look.
The sprinklers had been on for so long I actually felt like I was out in the rain. I found myself staring into his green eyes.
My clothes soaking, my feet glued to the ground, my eyes locked with his and the world seemed to disappear. I don't know what it was about his eyes, they could just lure you in.
He looked at me and he took a step closer, closing the distance between us. My lungs suddenly ran out of air and he looked at me intensely, one thing that always made uncomfortable under his gaze. I tried to move but I slipped and I fell on my butt.
I landed in the mud and he laughed so loud, so hard that he couldn't breathe. He wiped his eyes not sure if it was tears or it was the stupid sprinklers he turned on.
"You should have seen the look on your face. Priceless." He said holding his shirtless his tummy.
"Here," he said offering his hand still a little unsteady from the laughter.
I held his hand with both my hands and pulled him down and his eyes widened as he came crashing down next to me.
"Now that," I said through hysterical laughter.
"That was priceless," I laughed so hard I started kicking my muddy feet.
He joined in on the laughter and both remained on the muddy ground with the sprinklers still on. At this point my clothes were beyond wet but that was the last thing on my mind. All I could think about was Olen's mysterious green eyes and the way I could just get lost in them.
"You know you are hard to read," he said breaking through my thoughts.
"Huh?" I shifted in the mud to sit in a way that I was facing him.
"I mean you contradict yourself in so many ways." He said shifting and looking at me. Mind you were in the garden, the sprinklers were still on and it was very muddy, so pretty much everytime we moved we got mud all over ourselves.
"So let me get this straight," I said dramatically.
"So basically since I got here you've been trying to figure me out? Thinking about me all the time, trying to figure out what kind of person I am. That is a little creepy if you ask me, but I can't really blame you because honey I'm amazing" I flickered my hair dramatically looking directly at him but he seemed to be lost in thought.
I snapped my fingers in his face.
"Come with me." He said pulling my hand without waiting for my reply.
He walked so fast that I was basically running but he didn't even stop. I tried to free my hand but his grip was way to tight.
We came to stop in front of a forest which I would have found beautiful if my head wasn't spinning from all the running.
He still didn't let go of my hand but at least he was not walking like a mad man anymore.
"Careful, of the roots and branches." Was all he said.
We had taken so many turns in the forest I literally no idea which way we came. He stopped so suddenly that I crashed into his hard back.
"Ow," I whined rubbing my forehead.
"You know if you plan on murdering me, at least have the decency of telling me. I never really thought I'd leave the world because some creepy stranger decided to murder me in some creepy forest." I said with frustration.
"Creepy stranger?" He raised his eyebrow.
"Well you get the idea. But seriously what are we doing here?" I looked him seriously but he just laughed at me like I'm crazy.
"Come with me," he said yet again his grip tightening around my hand and he pulled me in the direction of what seemed to be a mountain peek but I couldn't see clearly because the trees here were very tall.
Another sudden stop.
"I'm really tired of all this running, especially since have no idea as to where we are.." I stopped in mid sentence as I was taken aback by the beauty of this place.
"It's beautiful," I squealed.
"Now you better get in there and clean yourself up. Except if you want to back there looking like you were swimming in the mud" he said ruining the moment.
